To be fair it was ultimately an unnamed source that led to Nixon's resignation.
A lot has changed in 45 years.

How much trouble does one get in for selling uranium to Russia?
How much uranium was sold to Russia? None.
Is this retro-day?
They still think the golden oldies will work. Meanwhile:
57 percent of voters would not vote to re-elect President Donald Trump in 2020, a new poll finds
Source
57 percent of registered voters saying they would "definitely" vote against re-electing the current White House occupant to a second term, according to the results of a brand-new poll from PBS NewsHour, NPR and Marist.
large number of voters who oppose Trump, as well as his low job approval ratings, suggest the president faces a "steep, steep incline" on the road to re-election. "The president has had his base and not much else,"
among Republicans, 69 percent said they planned to vote for Trump in 2020, while 10 percent said they would vote against him and 21 percent said they were "unsure." Along those lines, nearly all Democrats — 91 percent — said they planned to vote against the nation's leader, while 5 percent said they would vote for Trump and another 5 percent said they did not know who they would support in 2020. Meanwhile, 62 percent of independents said they plan to vote against Trump, while 25 percent said they would vote to re-elect him. Thirteen percent of independents said they were unsure.

Michael Cohen's got the receipts - Possible new evidence against Trump is more damning than ever. But Republicans don't care whether he's guilty
Source
Perhaps most important, Leopold and Cormier report that there are text messages, internal memos and emails to prove this — throwing a wrench in Trump's legal strategy of writing Cohen off as a liar and turning the issue into a "he said/he said" standoff....there's little doubt that instructing your lawyer to lie to Congress is a crime
Uh oh. Emails, memos and text...Looks bad for Trump.
Also, Cohen was known for recording meetings and phone calls...
Cohen was a vice-president of The Trump Organization, and the personal counsel to Trump, and was often described by media as Trump's "fixer".[3][4] He previously served as co-president of Trump Entertainment and was a board member of the Eric Trump Foundation, a children's health charity.[5] From 2017 to 2018, Cohen was deputy finance chairman of the Republican National Committee.[6][7]

Mueller's investigation has not even been going on for two years (May 17,2017). Watergate June 17, 1972. Nixon resign August 9, 1974.
Give it time.
Do you realize how much more technologically advanced we are today than we were in 1972? There would've been an indictment within a month if there was anything to indict Trump on. How much longer should I wait, 6 more years? At least when Trump finishes his second term we won't have to hear "just you wait, something's there!" anymore.
Except that there is an ongoing investigation - I'm not sure why people do not understand this. They do not prosecute on 'parts' if it it effects the rest of the investigation. When it wraps up and the final report is given, assuming wrongdoing is found, then the hammer will drop. Stating 'nothing has been done so far' is not a proof of innocence, Muller holds his cards close to his chest.
