There are 30-some odd "national emergencies" occurring without end. Has been for decades. Just another in a long line of breakdowns and divergence from True Constitutional Order

The doom and gloom fear mongering, however, is nothing more than the left lashing out because it somehow thought winning the house would put them back in power. Meanwhile, they've accomplished nothing but further breaking government and hastening the inevitable end result.

After the last two years ... ya we are in such better condition now... thank god trump hasn’t done anything stupid ... I’m so glad he increased spending and reduced taxes for corporations. And he was so awesome in Korea OMG that was almost a catastrophe and now he is under control. All Obama ever did was golf and take vacations and cost taxpayers money right?!

If I ran my business like you guys are running this thread... my rent would be an emergency...every month. My utility payment would be an emergency, until I paid it. My fire extinquisher needs to be checked every year...that's a third emergency. LOL

Say you walk into your house and you look around. You see openings everywhere in your house where there are no walls, just frame. Your nice big house backs up to an impoverished neighborhood. You hire a contractor to put walls on every empty frame in your house. This is meant to keep your family safe and keep intruders out. But you still know, in the back of your mind, that if an intruder wants in bad enough, he'll sneak through a window, maybe find a way under the house cut his way through your floor while you're away.

You may not know how to keep him from coming through your floor from below, or from sneaking in through a window, but you rest easy knowing that at least you have walls around your house and if an intruder comes around, he can't come through your open frame anymore.

Well I guess the analogy might be a little better if it were about your yard, but then again who wants that much to get into YOUR yard? Clearly it just does not work!

Anyone can walk into my yard, but they would have to be sneaky and crafty to get into my house because of my walls.

Yeswhat I am saying is a wall around a country is NOT like your house wall it is more like your yard wall if any semblance at all.

nope, the house passed the exact same bill the repulican senate passed a few weeks ago - a replucian plan. mitch (who signed the exact bill weeks ago) is too much of a coward to send it to the president.

The 66% number was people who became illegal that year, the 42% was for the total amount of illegals.

Can we at least agree that your point would be better put forth without accusing people of circle jerking?

The border situation IS an emergency, unless you don't think much about criminals who are not citizens coming in illegally and raping and murdering people, including border patrol officers. Before Trump beat Hillary, Hillary and other democrats flouted the plan of a wall or a barrier being a very good idea and necessary.

But because Trump won the election, perhaps they decided that illegal migrants could be encouraged to come up here and vote democrat? The democrat party really could use more votes, and that seems like as good a way as any right? After they vote they can be deported again, it's a win-win, and it worked really good for Obama when he was president.

the point is to make it harder
at the moment people can walk across with bags of drugs

if there's a wall, then it becomes harder, also it enables law and security officers to better monitor it.

I hope he calls the democrats out on their refusal to negotiate, advises the military to prepare as they will build the wall and that he's reopening the government so workers can get a pay cheque and not have to wait for the Democrats to come to the table.

Rarely do I consider the consequences of getting caught, and why should I? Over the past three years, I've transported Soma, Valium, Vicodin, OxyContin and other psychoactive drugs into Orange County at least 100 times with minimal hassle, sharing them with friends whose bottomless appetites for these substances are exceeded only by my own gross consumptive disorder.

We'll hear "This is a strike fully supported by those furloughed" and "national security we are all doomed if this doesn't get funded" and so on. Election coming - campaign promise must be met, even if poorly thought out and scarcely supported, at least by anyone with a brain.

That's absolute baloney. So basically compromise means they MUST agree to wall funding, or it won't pass. Even though there was a vote of 100-0 on a bill to fund the government - wasn't good enough for Trump. This is SOLELY on him. So compromise apparently now means strong arming to get what you want.

If they cave, what happens next? How many more threats of shutdown if Trump doesn't get what he wants? People just don't understand his toddler mentality, I guess. If he has an angle, no matter how poorly planned, no matter who it hurts, if in the end, it makes him look good, he'll do it.
