Yeah. We are one race. It's just such a common term that it's easier to use than saying a specific group within a CULTURE with similar physical atributes.

Culture is really the word I wanted to use. "Race" is the common term used for that so I went with it.

I've found Asian females rather attractive over the years, but there's an issue there (aside from the fact that I'm in a long-term relationship, I'm not shopping about right now);

I don't think that is true at all. I'm 1/2 Asian and I think most Asians don't age until at least Menopause, and even then some do it very well. I know a few that are in their 50's and have several grandbabies and seriously look 30!
I'm in my mid 40's, and i'm constantly carded, and people always confuse me for my sons sister, he is 22. When I tell people he is my son, they are absolutely dumbfounded.

As far as the OP, who cares, love who you love, and everyone else should butt out!

I think that you can be attracted to someone of another race, but still hold racist attitudes towards that other race, regardless.

You can also be preferentially attracted to your own race and be racist, or not.

I don't think sexual attraction has any specific correlation with racism.

I do think that strong emotion can contribute to self-image confusion leading to irrational acceptance of a racial stereotyping. The same as with many "us and them" issues.

Sexual attraction isn't something we have control over, no matter how much we might wish it. Just imagine: if we could turn it on and off like a switch, how many fewer failed relationships would there be? No more meeting a person who's the perfect match in every way...except there's no chemistry and we're not attracted to them physically. Nope. Instead, when we ran into that perfect (but chemistry-less) person, we could just flip the ol' attraction switch and BAM! Instant happily-ever-after.

Barf.

It doesn't work that way. We're at the mercy of biology, and it has nothing to do with racism. I don't find Chinese men attractive. I have nothing against Chinese people, but in my 50 years I have never seen a Chinese man I found attractive (though I've seen some very attractive Japanese men. Go figure.) Neither have I seen a Navajo or Inuit man I found attractive. I also don't find men with blond eyelashes, men with round butts, or men with spatulate fingers attractive. I don't find beards attractive, or hairy chests, or turned-up noses--and there's not a damn thing I can do about it. It's not a conscious choice, and it has nothing to do with racism or any other -ism. Attraction is based in biology.

I'm attracted mainly to blonde haired blue eyed girls, I can't change it, that is my preference.
I have had a dark haired brown eyed Mexican girlfriend in the past but she's the only one who wasn't white, blonde, and blue eyed.
It ain't racist, just personal preference. If I met a black girl who I got on with then I'd be open to intimacy...I live in a 98+% white region though so black girls are pretty rare to bump into.

That depends though, we're talking about physical attraction here. Is it racist if say, someone is less attracted to blonds, or short people, or people with brown eyes, or freckles?

What I'm saying is, is it racist if a person is attracted more to specific skin shades and colors because of the look similar to hair color, is that still racist?

At that point isn't it, anti-racist, since well skin color simply becomes a physical trait you can or cannot like same as any other?

In this case a person might be shallow since they care about appearance over personality, but I find racist a bit questionable.

It never ceases to amaze me how far out of their way people will go to make a stink about something that doesn't even matter. I mean, I can see why it's a somewhat serious issue when you have people who hate others based on race but frankly, who cares if someone is exclusively attracted to white people or black people or Asian people? That's like being offended by someone who is only attracted to redheads. It's absurd.

I just prefer brown skin. Mexican, middle eastern, black, polynesian....i just think brown skin is more aesthetically pleasing.

Oddly enough, I watched Flash Gordon today for the first time in many years, and it was a clear reminder of why I took a fancy to Asian ladies in the first place, lol

Not many but they are here in the UK as well.
...she was the most beautiful girl I've ever been in love with, from Mexico City, every man in bars would look at her thinking what is she doing with that prick (me) lol. I finished it because of my own insecurities that she could pick any guy she wanted and I didn't want my heart broken.

This one is easy. If you would not date someone you found attractive, because of their skin color you're racist. If you don't find pasty people generally attractive, you're not racist. If you don't find black people generally attractive, you're not racist. Just like if you don't like small noses or brown eyes, it's not bigotry against a class of people. It's attraction.

But here's a plot twist, are you sexist if you're only attracted to one sex? LMAO, we live in idiocracy.

That's not racism. What if I don't do asians but I can be good friends with them? It's just a matter of preference just like being into specific hair/eye color, specific personality or just hobbies.
We live in strange times. Everything is insulting to everyone and there's more and more people that will call others shallow just because they have preference and it's slowly getting ridiculous. Some people already state that having a sex preference is shallow because it's focusing on body not what's inside. I guess everyone that's not bi is sexist.
