The stalk is way different. A sunflower stalk is just a thick plant stalk. Hemp is more like sagebrush (if you're familiar with sagebrush). Ever try to cut sagebrush?

In Wyoming growing up we always used to say this about trying to cut sagebrush..."Sagebrush will cut YOU, before you cut IT"

But the truth is: Obama legalized industrial hemp in the 2014 Farm Bill; however, McConnell is the individual who did all the leg work and deserves the credit for the 2014 Farm Bill (ostensibly legalized hemp under the auspices of university research and pilot programs), and truly took it to another level with his crafting of the 2018 Farm Bill.

Can you back any of this up?

Flax is just the name of the end fibrous product.

There are different strains of hemp more suited to their own applications, for example, Bens tall hemp that you see in that video is grown for fibre, whereas our local hemp is short and squat-ish, as it's grown primarily for its seed yield.

I guess you have not heard. Republicans are NOT, happy about trump pulling out of Syria, and Mattis quit, because he doesn't want to work with trump. He very well, may have just gained Republican votes, for impeachment. trump, has zero idea what he is doing. Mattis resigning proved that.

Fingers crossed that hemp can help get us away from the NEIPA trend. They were fun at first but at this point, even as a professional brewer who makes them, I can't tell a significant difference between most of them. I want my super dank, overly hopped IPAs back.

Other way round FCD.
Same Genus, different (perhaps) species.

Can you prove any of it factually incorrect? No. But since you played the “can you back any of this up” card, prove me wrong. About even the slightest of misstatements. No assertions in what I wrote. All facts.

So run along and do some fact-checking; come back afterwards and remind everyone I can back it up. Hurry up, bucko...the holiday weekend is soon to be here.

ETA: can you back up your factually incorrect assertion that hemp doesn’t contain THC? Hint: It’s a rhetorical question.

ETA2: I have no idea if McConnell read the report front-to-back, but I know he got the monies kicked down to fund the study...I ran some of the sensitivity analysis for the corn and soybean numbers. UK Industrial Hemp Feasibility Analysis
edit on 21-12-2018 by BeefNoMeat because: ETA2 because I was annoyed some dipsh$t asked me to ‘back up’ my claims...meanwhile same dipsh$t declares hemp doesn’t contain THC. Pure genius, err, idiocy

hope they ALL get pulled out and our bases get shut down.

I'm not entirely sure why we need 50,000 troops stationed in japan 365 days a year...they are an ally.

My neighbor raised his first crop of industrial hemp this year. Like you said, it’s hard work!

I am more interested in the plants for CBD oil with THC. I hope my state goes legal next time around. I am ready and in place, to go on an indoor grow house. We are looking at converting an 8000 sf, metal building for year around cultivation of specific strains. I think the money will be in cloning a few good strains and selling the plants.

Indeed, Missouri is now medical legal. Just have to wait I think 6 more months for the docs and dispenseries. I have severe back issues and this will definitely improve my life.

Not sure if I give a # what the majority of Republicans want. They obviously do not want what the citizens of the US want. So they can go suck a pickle.

I always find it a bit funny when Trump supporters do this.

Trump pets a puppy, kisses a baby or says something almost nice about a political opponent and some of you act like that makes up for the rest of his shortfalls. I really believe in credit where credit is due so yup, good on Trump for lending his support for this fair enough. Yup Mr. Orange done right, but what I find a bit frustrating at times is the way that some Trump supporters do this annoying thing where they almost act like this makes him a "good guy".

Its almost like some expect that Trump making hemp legal or making progress in DPRK somehow makes up for him just grabbing em by the pu$$y because when your famous they let you do it, or starting a trade war with China or the countless lies and honestly I could go on all day.

Nobody is all good or all bad, I believe you can look at just about any individual and say "this was good, that was bad" its about how we balance them up when judging someone. So while I might judge Trump negatively for the sum of his actions and words I can still admit when he does something right.

Northern Virginia here. 34 breweries in county (two of which I brew for), 40 wineries, 2 distilleries, 2 cideries, and I think there's someone doing mead around here.

My ABC officer said she's got another 30 or so pending licenses just for breweries.

Life is indeed good.

Here's a video a friend of mine had put together to promote his business, he's a fairly big name in the hemp business.

It shows one of his harvesting machines a minute or so in, they're beasts lol

Video is only 3:00 long,

It was legal to grow hemp through WWII. You did need a permit but it wouldn't surprise me if you needed one under the current law.

And pots legal here now. But you can only have 2 1/2 oz on you and 12 oz in the house and 12 plants. And that's per person over 21.

Very good times

McConnell is the DC rep for this but he has Ryan Quarrels, the KY Comm. of Ag to thank for research. Kentucky once led the nation in hemp production. Thanks to some pilot programs passed during the Obama administration, we are beginning to rebuild the industry. As a result a growing/processing plant has been built in a neighboring county and currently provides me with the CBD oil I give to my cats. Buy local.

Even our local university is in on the program and a national company just announced a new processing facility will be built to employ a hundred or so people in a small river community here in western Kentucky. Food, fiber, medicine and jobs---all from one simple plant.

One of our nation's first staple crops, if I am not mistaken FCD

Glad to see federal policy in this respect beginning to gravitate toward a more appropriate and liberty-conducive place

Hell, wasn't there a requirement for the longest time that all farmers have no less than X number of Hemp bearing plants?
