this has to be made into a movie guys

A biohacker injected himself with DNA sequence made from parts of the Bible and Koran in a risky experiment because he "wondered whether it would be possible."

Adrien Locatelli, from Grenoble in France, translated religious passages into DNA code to build unknown proteins which he then poured into his body.

The high-school student risked potentially fatal consequences after conducting the procedure without any knowledge of the effects the proteins would have on his body

So pretty much if this guy gets superpowers I am doing this tomorrow.
Introducing outside genes through retroviruses is already a workable process.
No matter what happens to this High School maniac mad scientist he will go down as a legend and hopefully be mentioned in textbooks

Cue crazy video.....

We are probably not far off from this being a foolproof science.

If you had the choice of injecting yourself with all sorts of outside genes to augment yourself would you?.

This is hilariously depressing. You've got better odds of getting hit by lightning twice in the same place and spontaneously developing the ability to fly than any 'positive' mutation manifests from injecting random DNA hacks. If anything happens, its almost certainly going to be bad.

If God was real I bet even he'd be laughing at this guy, can you honestly say this idiot doesn't deserve something bad?

As long as I was 100% sure that I would gain a power. Yes.

Well.
That gave me a flashback of all the times in my life that I've heard that.

Way too early.
He could still start levitating and stuff.
Like you know you got to give those genes some time to kick in

It sounds like an April's Fool story or a shaggy dog tale.

If true, it has the makings of a Marvel/DC storyline. "Love me with all your heart or I will visit plagues upon all your family!" Perfect conflicted anti-hero template.

I don't see how injected DNA bits would be incorporated into the host's DNA. That's not really how it works.

do you even gene therapy bro?

Allegedly they reprogram retroviruses to introduce new genetic material into the nuclei of cells replacing damaged or mutated genes in the chromosome

Right. They don't inject bits of DNA.

Oh you mean this particular guy.
Obviously he's a mad scientist.
If he survives this expect him to move on to bigger and better projects.
Probably attaching laser beams to sharks

I know but this is Bible verses.

Makes for a much better comic book and Netflix remake

...how does one get DNA from a Bible or other BOOK? I am under the impression that DNA is biological.

DNA in this case stands for Don't Know Anything, about DNA sequencing, or DNA.

It absolutely is.

DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid.
