The fact that women use make-up

Sorry , but 8 dollars a day for makeup is a load of rubbish unless you are buying very high end products, and using too many.

But lets just say it does cost 8 dollars a day. I know men who spend twice that amount daily at their local pub for happy hour and don’t bat an eye over it.

Now that could be considered a useless waste of money put to better use, by some.

I say each to their own.

I asked the question of why women wear makeup to church to my family at Thanksgiving. God doesn't care what you look like I said. The women of the family shot me down as usual. Then, during the segment where we say who we think needs prayer, I said satan. He needs it most, obviously. Nobody agreed. Back to the kids table for me, and I'm late 30s. This world doesn't make any sense to me.

Good question on why women wear makeup to church. Same question on why women dress to the nines for church because God doesn’t care. Too many women are wrapped up in the pride of how they look, and it’s especially discouraging when you see it in supposedly spiritual settings.

But it’s not just Christianity, it’s also in other religions.

I also agree with you, Satan does need prayer. But I’m not sure how he reacts to prayer. It may just cause him to be more hateful and malicious. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What role have men been playing in this evolutionary path, how have they influenced this path ? I'm partly shaking my head, rolling my eyes and laughing. Wow, so many assumptions in here.
Wearing makeup is no different than picking out certain pieces of clothing or jewelry. I don't spend a lot on makeup, wear a lot of makeup or do it to please anyone. Just like clothing, it's a personal choice and you choose what you enjoy and makes you feel good.

Lighten up folks, not everyone dresses or wears makeup to impress others. It's one's personality and good heart that matters most with or without makeup. Sheesh!

Hmmm .. if they don’t wear it to impress others or feel better about how they look, why are they bothering ?
Same goes with those who try and impress others with how big their heart is. (See Walmart layaway thread ) More stuff based on pride.

Frankly, I couldn’t care less if someone wears it or not ( Personally I don’t anymore ), but if their pride gets out of whack for whatever reason... now that’s a turn off, and makes them ugly. Lol

Don't think it has anything to do with deception...

Humans have painted their faces for eons. War paint, ceremonial paint, attracting a mate etc...

I think the deception lies in the patriarchal PTB. They have deceived women into thinking they need to compete with each other. And if they don't look a particular way in society then they will have issues getting work or a partner etc...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I don't ever shave, do my hair or wear deodorant, cos y'know, I'm an honest guy...

Makes me feel better. It makes me feel perkier. Same with when I color my hair or choose a nice dress to wear. I enjoy it.

Because they are ugly and they smell.

How are you so certain that women haven't always felt the need to compete with each other?

Men compete with each other as well when it comes to women, it's human nature as far as I see things.

I do, I wouldn't go to a bar in my filthy work clothes and expect to attract a mate for the night lol
I shower, wear my best clothes, and compete with other males.
I don't get why folk have issues admitting competitiveness, it is natural human behaviour, and common in the animal kingdom.

Women often wear makeup if they are insecure or anxious..... instead of wanting to stand out - they actually wear it as camouflage.... they are hiding.

Haha true that, it is the woman who allows the male to mate, and as a male we have to work for it lol.
Women still compete with each other though, I see it every time I'm in a group of girls at a party and we all get along, they'll all flirt in their own ways.

I blew £100,000 just partying for 8 months many years ago, walk around a nightclub in a sharp suit with a bottle of Champagne then they compete big time for your attention. It is human nature, and I exploit that human nature in my own ways as well.
