That's exactly what I thought it was for, that does make it much easier to make an object hollow. If theres one thing I hate also, its trying to replicate something because it's never the same for me.

Thats awesome to hear Night Star, which stone is your favorite ? I find Tigers eye is a good grounding stone, hence the grounding blade. Kyanite is my favorite followed closely by amethyst.

Looking at the sword you posted, it reminds me of how much I used to enjoy a good fantasy sword. Though the problem i find is they are not functional enough for me, and if it were, the cost would be too much for my blood. Lord of the rings is certainly a good place to find lore of enchanted weapons.

I've noticed you have an affinity for dragons, I've owned a few fantasy swords with dragon themed hilts. One such I had for a few years, it weighed at least 10-15 pounds, it was massive. I have a photo of myself around 18 years old shouldering it, though I'm not sure I'm comfortable sharing that. I sure do miss that sword though, but again it was not functional for me since it was half my size at least lol.

I'm hoping to make a forge within the next couple of years. My wife and I already built a small fire place this summer. Ultimately, forging a blade with a high content of meteorite Iron is my goal. I quite enjoy the color and the look of the blade.

So to top this post off, I'll be heading down to the cellar *anybody down there!* time for some pixie drinks! (you're right these are potent)

I've got some brew handy too if anyone wants

That sounds like a beautiful collection, I absolutely love anything to do with crafting using natural materials.

I've often wanted a shield, never owned any to date. Though your collection is not one to be used recklessly I'm sure. The commercial stuff is good solely because it can be broken

Which stone is my favorite? OMG, so many!!! I love amethyst, rose quarts, selenite, fluorite etc. etc. etc. I can identify some by sight, but many I can't and many are tricky as they look similar but are different stones. I have blue kyanite.

Oh wow, your fantasy swords must have been gorgeous! You're going to forge your own blades? Impressive!

Sorry, but I'm sick and feeling crappy tonight, so not wording things very well. I'll join you for a drink though.

I didn't know Metallica did a version of this song. Cool!

Have you heard from Jacy?

Jacy, if you're out there, give us a holler will ya?

Blue kyanite is the one I was referring to, it's good for intuition. Selenite is another I've recently been working with now that you mention it. I do like it a lot as well it has a very soothing vibe.

How to choose just one favorite right lol I'd like to forge my own, it takes time and dedication. right now those things are focused on other pursuits. I'm giving myself 5 years, which is a generous amount of time.

Then perhaps another 5 years or more to become good at it lol, but if I can learn and teach that skill to my child I would be very happy. My family and I have an affinity for horses, we own one horse right now.

My wife is very good at taming horses and riding them, I'm just beginning to learn but I'm very ambitious. I've already seen her take a rather hard fall, and I know my turn will come too but I'm more eager than nervous. It helps to have someone who knows so much about them.

Anyways let's have a drink *raises glass* hoping you feel better soon.

You are right about it being tricky to identify them, I've got a couple of books on the subject because of it and swear by them. They also describe the metaphysical properties of each stone which I also enjoy. If you'd like to know the author I would gladly share

Rainbow moonstone is another cool one. I have one that has a nice glow to it. I have a book on gemstone identification, but sometimes it's difficult to tell from a pic. I have spheres, an Angel shaped stone and both polished and rough stones. They are so beautiful.

Ah horses, beautiful! Being a city girl, I don't see them too often.

Tree goes up first thing tomorrow. (1st December Aussie time) We've had the tree for 23 years.

Bought it at an op shop or thrift shop as is known elsewhere when we were strapped for money. Has pics of our kids taken over the years. The kids picked them out a long time ago and framed them in cardboard and colored paper themselves.

Looking forward to doing that. "True love" (my wife) and I will spend tomorrow wrapping the presents after decorating the tree.

Great fun for us two.

Kind regards,

bally ( merry xmas you shed mob)
