It was real but it was in a tweet attempting to quickly rebut the notion that should the military turn on our citizens, the weapons we have will not be enough to fight them off, which, has long been one of the more staunch defenses against gun control. Yes it was a poor analogy, but that is what is was. A symbolic statement on the over all superiority of our military.

You do understand that our military is comprised of actual people, right? With families and loved ones and property and a love of country.

Then there are a lot more of us that are no longer in the service but didn't forget the skills when we left...

Interesting that the left is only tickled about the superiority of our military when they fantasize about using it to take over America.

Wish you luck!

That all by itself shows how drunk these people are with a quest for power. Or rather, the delusion of it. This overt psychosis the left has continues to be their undoing, and yet with each failure they double down and use more effort for the next attempt to usurp their authority and go off the reservation..

Actually, what you and nearly everyone continually fail to realize is that we're all on the same team. And we're just standing around bickering and blaming each other for the ball not moving forward instead of working together to come up with a plan to move it down the field.

And we've all just been hit with yet another delay of game penalty. That'll cost us another 5 yards...

“Understanding things within the context which it was stated”

Not exactly a strong-point of the ‘left’ is it?

Well that was easy now, wasn't it? Just take the point being made and flip it over to point in the opposite direction. I wish I was that smart.

This does not have anything to do with taking a mans statement our of context and blowing it up into a hyperbolic charge of authoritarianism

Then there are a lot more of us that are no longer in the service but didn't forget the skills when we left...

Was one of the skills that retired service people still have the ability to comprehend when a man is making a simple tweet and understanding it within the context with which it was stated?

Interesting that the left is only tickled about the superiority of our military when they fantasize about using it to take over America.

That, besides being a gross over exaggeration is also just plain bullcrap.

I do understand that you are trying (in theory) to stand up for someone who was saying that we can just nuke all those pesky gun owners to prove a point.

Can you explain to me how that is even theoretically possible, logistically?

I mean, we are talking about nuclear weapons.

You nuke a city to get rid of those pesky gun owners, you are actually just nuking an urban area that is statistically mostly liberals.

SoOo... do you just start nuking urban areas?

You know... where food for urban areas come from?

The whole premise is just a leftist masturbatory dream.

As far as the US military, under a leftie President, taking over America?

You'd have the resources for taking over maybe Texas... if you just don't include the Texas national guard.

I guess the Navy could take out the east and west coast... taking out a bunch of liberals.

THEN you would have to put boots on the ground and take over the rest of the 2.3 billion acres of the USA.

Somewhere in the midst of that is roughly 180 million gun owners with 370 million guns and a few trillion rounds of ammo.

It's a sad leftist fantasy that will never be started because although the left appear to be insane, they are not suicidal.

So the best you can do is keep pushing for gun laws and we will keep pushing back.

I am just in the point in my life that I can see one team trying to move the ball. The other team seems to want to make the ball gender neutral and take it home, then talk about ways to make the grass on the field greener and HEY!! the food stand needs to be organic and if we have too many people in the stands then it's going to melt polar ice somewhere so we need to charge more for the tickets.

A star for you though as a voice of sanity in this thread.

how are they going to get all gun owners in a spot and get all those who do not want gun in a different area so they can nuke the gun owners? I guess getting nuked is better than having to live with a bunch of dumb idiots like this senator and people who think that everything will be peachy if only criminals have guns.

There's already a thread on this clown and his nuclear statement, as was pointed out in the other thread it was likely meant as a point that citizens with their AR's are no match for the government and their arsenal of weaponry, if a rogue government wanted you dead they could do it and easily without a fight. To think he meant it literally is a little hyperbole if I ever saw it.

He may have been a little stupid ...

But it is an interesting look into the mind, if you can call it that, of the left.

By Any Means Necessary, right?

To be blunt, it's my opinion that anyone who plays for team left or team right have lost it, you know the lights are on but nobody's home.

It's my opinion at this point that if you are not on a team, you are in denial.

There is a very real geosocialpolitical war going on right now in America.

I seriously doubt that it will ever escalate to another civil war.

However, there are only two other endings, economically.

One, we continue to slide left, bankrupt everything, settle into the Greatest Depression and have to move forward.

Two, we can fix the system we have and move forward.

Neither of those two alternatives end with the left in charge.

It's just math.

I realize you are stuck in this " us verses them " reality, you think there is only one way this can be fixed, there are more options than right or left you just have to be willing to see them.

No, I am trying to stand up for simple comprehension of context, thats all. it was a simple and brief tweet about the comparison of private weapons in relation to government weapons . It was symbolic, not and overture of intent.

So, anyways there's 3 things that irk me to no end. Illegal border crossing, Government Corruption and Gun Control for Law abiding Citizens who -are- concerned with Illegal gangs and gun runners.

Sounds like the usual corporate talking-points to me.

The right has officially lost it - MrPopularity is the living proof of a Brawndo drinking Idiocracy citizen, who takes political talk literally on his epic quest to avoid context.

I didn't realize that, but real; fake it was said, that's the problem. That it was said at all. Poking a bear with an iron rod is never a good idea, which he knew would provoke and insult people.

Um...

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.): I want a front row seat at a lynching.
Kanye West: I want to abolish the 14th Amendment (I think I would enjoy being a slave).
Donald Trump: "Knock the crap out of them would you? I promise I will pay your legal fees."

So has 'The Right Officially Lost Its Mind"?

(Note: that is a rhetorical question: the answer is self evident and does not need expansion.)

(Notice also that the first two examples are not exact quotes and I haven't surrounded them in quotation marks. The third one is an exact quote.)

He's clearly being symbolic; stating that due to the emense superiority of the US military pivot citizens with "military style" weapons couldn't possibly stand a chance against government aggression.

My only question is; if that argument was true why are we still bogged down in the Mid East? We've been fighting rock throwers over there with our superior military for most of my adult life and I'm unsure of any ground we've made.

Well those of us who are emboldening the Progressives are the ones on a different team if you will step back and rethink this.

Do we keep going the prog way or the Constitution? That is the divide.
