and use the grey matter a bit.
theres not really an ancient population .
you cant farm a rock .
no resources apart from rock and seabirds.
human life needs logistics and resources.
the business of living isnt all about ideals and 'rights'

That's exactly what i am saying. We were always taught that the Celts invaded and took over from the Beaker People. Modern genetic findings (as well as archeological discoveries) actually show this never happened. There was no injection of Celtic DNA into our make up. It was a cultural rather than physical invasion. As such, notions of Scottishness, Englishness, etc are bogus when discussing the inhabitants. It is appliccalbe when discussing national identity in that seperate kingdoms evolved. However, fundamentally, we are pretty much all the same peoples. And that also goes for Ireland. Some may have more anglo-saxon, others more Viking, etc, but we all share a majority genetically.

no i am quite serious
its important to examine our preconceptions.
trash in = trash out
belief is important in the sense of cohesive social units i.e. nationality
but it can be damaging if history is interpereted incorrectly esp. as its already written by the winners
for he who controls the past controls the present, and through that perception the future.
almost any version of ww2 has propaganda from divers source
thats a good example because we still get this emotive propaganda thrown at us all the time.

Aye im not debating the celtic origins , its a cultural movement , genetically we are all mongrels on earth!

but I am scottish as I was born here and as far as I know my family come from scotland from Buckie and other places in the highlands , as my dads side is the morrison clan I think they were islanders and my mums side are all cattle farmers and fishers from Buckie !
However in my grans on my mums side my great great great grandmother came to Ireland first with the Spanish fleet!
So im not here debating the genetic aspects of our shared gene pools as a species!

Im saying I am not in any way shape or form British! as I dont assign to being british in my identity
In fact I oppose it!

Id be happy to be in a Union with England if it meant we abolished the model we currently have which only seeks to undermine the human spirit and put profit before people and planet!

if we went our own ways then joined in Union once we had our # together ! id be ok with that
