What is violent? I most definitely was not taking about running you over.
You made some dumb analogy that blowing your smoke directly in someones face is the same as having to breath car exhaust, that might be true if i back my car up to you with the exhaust pipe pointed at your face..capiche?

so which restaurant, business, home, elevator do you own?

where is your "right" not to be infringed upon by cigarette smoke enshrined? Is it one of those new fangled social warrier antifa rights.

I have the right not to be infringed upon by your car exhaust. Quit driving - take a bus

Tired of Control Freaks

I don't think you get it. If we're in a closed space, inside, It's common courtesy not to fill it with smoke or vape clouds. I would never do that to someone. if I have to fart, I excuse myself and go outside.

There's lot's of things that aren't in the constitution...We're not talking about social warriors or owning buildings.

If I'm in a restarant eating, You don't have the right to come in and ruin my dinner. If i'm in an elevator, you don't have the right to pollute my air with your fruity vape or smoke, If I pay for a airline ticket, you don't have the right to blow smoke in my face.

If you can't control yourself enough to do that away from me, you've got a problem. Maybe you need help. Try blowing smoke in my face and see what happens though bro. It won't go well for you.

The day I back my car up into your face ..feel free to reciprocate.
I'm not an anti smoker either.

that states your car will hit my face. you should learn to write what you mean. i sit in my house smoking cigarettes with the house sealed up. if u sit in a sealed enviroment with your car running u can die standing 20 feet away. driving past me does more damage to me than blowing smoke at people does

I'll try to be more exacting in my wording

Anyway, sure car exhaust is more toxic than cig smoke, I don't get the "blowing it into peoples faces" bit, you are not helping your cause.
I couldn't care less if you smoke, being an ahole about it, is something I don't get.

i just like sticking it to the people that believe i shouldnt be able to smoke on a public sidewalk. you cant even smoke in a business you own anymore. one time i stopped through dallas texas and was required by law to stand in an enclosure on the sidewalk that had metal bars and nothing to stop the smoke from escaping. that was an example of when i put my face up to the bars and blew my smoke out at people walking by. i also do it to people that lecture me in real life. those who mind their own business dont get problems from me. if that upsets you, dont knock on my door to tell me about your god. you dont want to know what i do to them

People should mind their own business, we agree on that. And I also have no time for people telling me about god..seldom something I have to deal with.
I have chased realtors from my yard though.

I'm a smoker.

I know what smoke does and I own it where ever I live.

People should do the same.

But banning smoking?

Sounds authoritarian.

you can smoke all you want in your house or car.

What i want to know is how such a large lobbying industry got attacked.

Who is making money of the ban? I know their are vape and other stop smoking products out there but the fight against tabaco goes way past them. Tabaco was a powerhouse in the US.

OK back to the problem at hand - And whether reasonable people could solve it in spite of the government control
freaks wha are at least partially responsible for causing it.

We have already seen how questionable the health hazards of secondhand smoke are - a greatly exaggerated problem
by the control freaks.

"Study Finds No Link Between Secondhand Smoke And Cancer"
www.forbes.com...

But agreed there is nothing good about second hand smoke and you should have the right not to breathe it in your
apartment.

First, apartments should be constructed so there is little 'leakage' between them - Apartments that leak can be spreading
far worse than second hand smoke - They could be spreading good old fashion bacteria, germs and disease.

Second - Let's say you can not completely seal up individual units, especially in older buildings,
But the air in any apartment is filterable and cleanable - Modern day air cleaners with HEPA filters are efficient and
not that expesive.

Third - Your friend the alien 'AlienView' will now solve the HUD assisted apartment problem for his Human friends.

Fourth - The Solution: All HUD assisted apartments which usualy charge 30% of income to low income people
will now charge 35% of income to those who smoke to cover smoke damage; Management will try to accomodate,
where feasible, non-smokers who can't stand the smell of tobacco smoke by having buildings , or sections of
buildings that are for non-smokers only; And finally all smokers will be required to have good [sufficient]
air cleaners in their apartments to mimimze all second hand smoke.

Now Human, smoker and non-smoker, can you live with this? Or would you rather go on fighting each other over
a problem that should not exist

Ha. I do if you're blowing smoke or vape clouds in my face. In fact that's so disrespectful, that's like spitting on someone. AT risk of being arrested, I would smack that right out of your mouth or hand.

Pop outside for a fag.

Honestly this is the most pointless indignation ever.

If you've ever had to clean up a house which was chain-smoked in for years, you'd probably quit on the spot.

Literally runs down the walls slowly like thick snot once you start getting some cleaning products involved.

It's a dinosaur habit, dying out as it should do.

Ranting and raving about not being able to hot-box your flat with an extremely dangerous habit is one of the more pointless rants I've seen on here of late.

How about seatbelts huh? How can the government dictate that I have to be safe when driving my own car?!??!?!

Etc. Snore.

Never have I stated I blow smoke at someone or act disrespectfully in general.
If you voluntarily enter a space that allows smoking, you need to accept you will be exposed to it.
That does include public spaces. A smoker's right in outdoor spaces equal your own.
You can always move upwind or cross the street.
