What is Behind the Dramatic Rise in Violent Crime in the UK?

If you want a gun in the UK...say a revolver...you can go out quite legally, do no background checks, not bother with a FAC or anything and just buy a gun chambered in an obsolete round.
The most common seem to be .38 and .44 Russian.
They aren't cheap, the ammo is a little tougher to get hold of, but you can legally buy a fully working weapon for a couple of thousand and bring it back into the country.

That's where a lot of the gang guns come from because they don't need to be smuggled.It's amazing how many people don't understand this.

the problem is society being ok with State sanctioned murder !

as that's all it is , military /armed forces, state sanctioned murder , police force , deadly force, state sanctioned murder!

giving guns to citizens who then use it on each other as they see fit, state sanctioned murder!

Our world goes on so much about finding peace, and wanting peace and everyone to be happy , yet we cant do that
with world full of weapons !

Problem in America is not preventing responsible owners from obtaining guns. But preventing the bad people from obtaining illegal guns.

What you don't see either is the Vatican opening up its coffers in any kind of meaningful manner.

Christianity's not got what i would call the best of track records where Africa is concerned or any other continent for that matter. LoL

Africa needs food, clean water sources, infostructure, and monies. Christianity is about as much use to Africans as a Chocolate Teapot im afraid.

doesnt matter how much we put into charity , because it will never surpass the trillions we spend globally each year on arms and ordnance !

the US alone spends something like 639 billion dollars this year 2018 for arms and ordnance!

that's enough to feed clothe and educate every man woman and child on earth for 10 generations !

and that is just the US alone, add together the total spent from all nations on war and death
and collectively we have enough money to fix every damn problem on earth with no exceptions
and ensure we live in peace and harmony!

but nahhh, lets just keep on hating, dividing, putting up walls , making more bombs and killing each other
just so a hand selected few , less than 1% of the total global human population can , light cigars with a burning 500 dollar bill , kick their servant in the face and spit on them!


So dont come in here saying we live in compassionate times, if that were the case then we'd see this budget slashed to a pittance !

Don't forget...our prisons no longer serve as a deterrent to crime - they are merely a mechanic to serve a sentence...

Make proper sentences and turn the Falklands into a colonial era penal colony (akin to Australia). Prison sentences then become a real deterrent and the Argentinians won't want them back....

it would be amazing but sadly there are too many people who love patriotism , war and the military and will defend it to the death !

despite the fact that we could solve all of our problems by just not fighting wars !

who are we defending britain against ?

who has invaded us in the last 100 years ?

who is at our door with a gun ?

the only people we should be wary of are the ones we have upset by result of our terrible foreign policies !

Why does Britain need a military , it doesnt really , we are a small island nation
we just need coastal defenses in terms of policing our international waters and a small reactionary force for air resuce etc

but we dont need a huge army or air force , because our allies are perfectly capable of making a name for themselves overseas by themselves !

Our days playing world super power are over and we should just bloody well throw in the towel for our army / navy and air force !

I was at my cousins wedding and her husband is in the army and his captain was a lovely guy who looked exactly like tom hanks , I thought he was wonderful until he told me he that he enjoyed blowing up people with his artillery !

Thats just sick .

Now I understand a lot of people will get angry because we fought in two world wars and preserved our democractic rights !
Again those wars were the exact #ing same , all done for money and power, not for our freedoms !

I wont dishonor their lives, My great uncle fought and died in WW1 , he was in the highland regiments, and my great grandfather also fought in the WW1 and died from his war wound, took a sniper round to the eye socket and survived
but later died from complications when the bullet sank further into his skull after the war !

My grandfather was in the Navy during WW2 and his ship was sunk off the coast of Italy and it took him 3 months to walk to france behind enemy lines with his fellow shipmen, he then got to calais and made it back to the UK
he died when I was 3 , he only ever told my dad about the day his ship was sunk and the subsequent loss of his friends lives was the single most traumatic experience he ever endured.|

Why isnt this enough to stop us sending our family and friends to wars for profit for a select few!

its madness , utter madness !

and the minister of Defense is sitting in the houses of parliament , dumbfounded as to why the military enlistment numbers are dwindling !

Aye too right, you can get a year in jail for painting a train with graffiti , and you can get 5 months for assault with a deadly weapon , out in 3 !
(when the law is set up like that , you know its only designed to collect fines and penalites for corporate entities and government, there is zero focus on justice , rehabilitation or reintegration for felons)

That is not actually a bad idea with a penal colony!

I think the moon will end up like that .

Also what does it say for the prison service , when my friend wendy who works with dis-advantaged youths , she said many will commit a non serious crime in order to catch a small jail sentence over the christmas / winter period, so they get free rent , 3 square meals, a tv , a ps3 or xboxb , electricity and a gym and a heated cell all at the expense of the tax payer!

Homeless people cannot even get into our prisons these days.

And trust me many of them commit petty crime with exactly that reason in mind.

They just get fined, God knows where to all the same considering their lack of address.

The gaols are full of shoplifters, benefits cheats, people who refuse to pay a TV license, the majority of which also suffer from mental health problems, and should be in the hospital as opposed to gaol.

It crazy really.

When I was 16 I was homeless, really cold winter, I had half a house brick and nearly did the window of the police station to get a bed.
I changed my mind at the last minute because even though I was freezing, I valued my freedom more.
I totally understand that concept though.

Lol. Ever see the movie 300 which was based on true events. When the arabs or who ever they were , were invading. They would wipe out entire civilizations. Women, children, burn down any sign of the civilization.

Ghengis Khan it was written that the killings would last days. They would burn and obliterate any sign of life including bugs.

This is what happend when a more advanced and more organized group encounterd a other throughout much of history.

Today war is not fought to kill your enemy, it's there just to cripple them or impose sanxtions.

You see groups throwing rocks and tanks. Anytime in history the rock throwers and their failed to evolve culture would be wiped out.

So compared to the way things were handled, I'd say many are very fortunate to be around.
