I have a feeling this was some kids school project.
They wanted to dispose of it and got creative.
72 die in the actual fire and nobody was even charged!
Make any jokes about it and you become a dangerous white supremacist.
Grow up England and start prosecuting the hate spewed in Mosques before you do anything like this.

I think they need to spend a week in a burns unit and see if it's funny then.
Personally I think it's a little too far, but they should be named and shamed but not arrested. I have heard they could be doing some kind of community service, but i'm not 100% on that.

The trouble is in England, our press are like sharks and will bite any piece of dirt they can find and make it 10 times worse than it actually is.

So you cant joke about 72 deaths but you can joke about Shipman's 250 plus victims?

All bad taste but either the law of the land is equal or it simply doesnt work.

Moyra Samuels, from the Justice For Grenfell campaign group, called the video a "disgusting attack"

They are really doing a big one on this.. lol
I think Moyra Samuels should go home and take some time off and watch some south park

Why should they be named and shamed? From my understanding, it was a private party and none of those responsible posted the video. Naming them opens them up to idiotic retaliation attacks.

If it turns out that they did post the video, it puts a different slant on it as that could be construed as incitement - unless it was a private group.

The thing is no-one is prepared to put in words here on ATS or anywhere else for that matter what nearly everyone knows about Grenfell Towers and what people talk about in pubs and clubs the length and breadth of the UK.

People are free to say what they want but publicise it on social media etc....that's another thing altogether.

Don't get me wrong, the people responsible are pure pond life and deserve a good kicking, but jail....?

And as usual there is a PC agenda being pandered too.

It's in bad taste, but who cares except the most intellectually sterile.

It's a bad joke for people with dark humor. So what

Casual "Evil" is the foremost explanation. There is no 'joke' involved.

Is it prosecutable? Technically, only the dick'ead who publically posted the video is in potential hot water, for causing public alarm and distress, but I doubt he will be charged.

Naming and shaming will punish the moron, at the very least.

Are they complete morons who did something highly offensive and racist? Yes - most definately.

Should they be arrested and charged with a crime- it is certainly an interesting debate. Yes the freedom of speech issue is something I strongly believe in - however - how different is this to a group standing around a burning crosses wearing hoods? Is that a 'joke' too? Where is the line drawn.

What really irritates me is the comments on here about 'sensitive liberals' and the 'PC brigade' comming from people who support a President that has continuously spoken out about people who bend a knee to the Anthem and would see flag burning made a criminal offence. Oh and of course if you don't say nice things about him you are 'an enemy of the people'

Stones in glass houses.

Actually it does not amount to a joke it is a hate crime, the people in that tower block were predominantly poor and predominantly ethnic minority's.

Children died in that fire screaming as they were burned alive, innocent small kid's.

So it's a joke is it when someone burn's an effigy complete with a silhouette of a person with there arm's up in a window I for one do not consider this kind of sick minded stunt a joke.

It is a hate crime plain and simple and one that has sickened the majority of the country, a Minor one but still a hate crime and in all likelihood the culprits will be let off with a caution assuming there are no prior's but to my mind this is very little different to some twat pissing on a war memorial dedicated to our grandfathers and great grandfathers.

If I had my way these idiot's would be put in a village stock's for a week and rotten vegetables provided for passers by to throw at them, that or a good old fashioned birching would cure there sick mind's, while the Isle of man still had that they had very little re-offending - except the street of shark's of course since it's a tax haven and a money laundering hub just like Jersey is.

A crime? # NO! But the tyrannical UK government says it is!

The government has sod all to do with the police making enquiries and arrests. Hopefully this will all come to naught because it is deeply silly.

It's only one small step from hysterical laughter at this 'joke', to being able to set fire to the actual building & laugh as the hundreds within perished in the most awful ways imaginable.

I do agree that there's a problem with the policing of free speech here in the UK - but this alleged joke crossed the line because it absolutely has the potential to cause serious psychological harm to anyone connected to the tragedy who inadvertently came across it online. Sadism starts small, and this joke is bitterly sadistic to the memory of those who died. I'm actually of the belief that the Grenfell disaster was an occult ritual performed by a secret order of illuminati types amidst the so-called 'black nobility' in the UK. This 'joke' demonstrates that regular working class folk can be just as sadistic as the dark occultists, on a smaller scale admittedly, but still, clearly evil in nature, and NOT a joke.

Nazi dog salute = a joke which shouldn't have been punished by the law.
Mock Grenfell arson/execution of hundreds, mainly immigrants? = NOT a joke.

The trouble is that laws designed for certain things can be stretched by imaginative solicitors to the point that judges sometimes don't know what's up & down in terms of the raw, visceral criminal intent/outcome of certain events.

And to think they would've gotten away with this heinous crime if the evidence wasn't posted to the internet.

Who again was directly and specifically harassed, threatened or physically harmed to constitute a hate crime?

What exactly was their intent?

Concrete and specific answers to these two questions must be answered before internet warriors assign guilt.

Otherwise, perhaps you guys are the joke!

Damm people are nuts. Yes its racist and poor taste.

But it seems the only people who are offended by it are people who were not even there.

And they are offended by a video of paper burning and wanting to lock people up for burning paper.

You sound like Muslims wanting to lock people up for not believing in Allah or kill them for a bad Allah meme.

Yes, not a crime to burn paper.

There's was an intent there. It's not like they accidentally set paper on fire.

This doesn't warrant an arrest. But we're grooming society to take a very ugly path.

Pain goes through the same receptors in the brain, whether it's physical or mental. You can punch someone in the gut and they cry, because it hurts, you can utter a few words to someone, and they cry.

Communication is an integral part of our physiology, because it's not something tangible doesn' mean less real.

Say a word in a specific tone can cause a child to burst into tears, so can a spank...

Critical thinking shouldn't be void because of 'internet'
you Try burning a Koran in Blighty and see if burning paper is a crime.
This country has gone to # since we got these hurt feelings laws.
I'm sick of people who are offended for other people.

See above post
