He may have had a role like Gowdy and Goodlatte and now it's done. The recusal may have been part of it.

Given the timing, Sessions' resignation was clearly planned beforehand.

Can you imagine Trey Gowdy heading the DOJ?

Q has hinted at a bigger role for Gowdy in one drop, but I'll believe it when I see it. After all, Q is human and while that may have been the plan at the time, things change.

Re Sessions firing/resignation:

I wonder if he was one of the 4 black hat FIREWALLS?

If so then within 24 hours they could have lost 3 of them... CORKER, FLAKE, SESSIONS?

Is ROSENSTEIN the 4th?

If I'm correct then are we seeing all the FIREWALLS removed in short order following the mid-terms? Would this signpost an unblocking of the Dam and action on DECLAS etc.?

Sessions job is done.

Curious assumption that people hired to do a very specific job are then employed until the end of time.

One thing DJT and company have done is to keep things moving. Folks come in, do the job, then head out. In some cases Hope, Bannon, to deal with other parts of the plan.

Resigning does not equate to all the work he has done putting together cases is flushed. The cases stand, he has done his job.

Thanks Jeff.

You know ... I know Q kept saying "Trust Sessions" but there is another way to view that. I think we all accepted the most common way - the straightforward way. But there is a sarcastic way to view it too. "Trust an idiot!" What if Q was being snarky/sarcastic in that reference?

Although I think it was the straightforward way. Sessions was doing something and now he's resigned on time like he was supposed to.

I could see this one coming for a while.

I always trusted Sessions and I still do. We will probably never know how big of a role he played behind the scenes.

His hands were tied. He could follow through all the way up to (an) indictment(s) but would always fall short of getting them due to either the president, AG, or something. He was frustrated and I believe that was one of the reasons he "retired".

He was and still is a "pit bull"!

I got the feeling today, President Trump wanted to say much more about flaky Flake.

"I retired him," Trump said. "I'm very proud of it. I did the country a great service. He is retired. I'd like to call it another word, but we're going to treat him with great respect.

"Jeff Flake, that's another beauty."

Interesting idea. FISA declas is supposed to lead directly to Rosentstein's removal. With midterms out of the way, that might happen very quickly, perhaps even within the next day or two.

This is a huge signal of what's to come, I think.

Someone in charge who isn't recused from everything.

"Trust Sessions" until midterms are done...just left that part out.

It's government, Cranky. These guys are like ticks, burrowing themselves into Uncle Sam's skin. Many of them do expect to employed forever, and you need to nuke them from orbit (damn-near literally) to get rid of them.

Trust Sessions.

They all thought they were safe and nothing was being done.

Lulled into a sense of security.

This has been quite an interesting day.

I knew there was a reason I was only mildly disappointed in the election.
