I triggered a Gen "I" kid at store - thought he was going to cry or freak out

He was trying to put his groceries or whatever he bought into a satchel? What is that? Do people still carry satchels? May as well take a fanny pack with you to the grocery store. Anyways, sounds OCD to me, if he was folding everything and arranging everything all nicely to fit in his satchel.

As far as that goes, there are worse things to have then OCD.

Seems like a none issue to me. May as well tell you the story of the shape of my cats poop today? Lets just say it was texterous. Yes a word I just made up. But I would not want to entertain people to much, for it is a much more harrowing tale, then a kid with a satchel who did not want to wait at the check out line, and had a bit of a compulsive behavior.

I almost feel compelled to ask why you would feel the need to put this story down into words, much less make a thread on it. Almost! But not quite.

Nah! I think people are making more of this then it is.

Kid was impatient and did not want to wait in line at the checkouts. Probably bought small items, everywhere was packet, went to pay at customer service, and likely a little OCD. The op, said something, likely has no patience if 4 minutes is a long time for him, maybe we should classify impatience as a disease as well. Seems obsessed about it if he wrote about it. Almost like some sort of obsessive compulsive behavior.

But anyways its a none issue, and next time the kid he will likely bring something bigger then a satchel, and others will figure it out better. Its likely they were all probably at customer service to pay for stuff as well, because like the kid they had no patience to wait in the lines.

Which is a most heinous breach of store protocol no doubt, anyone who thinks they can pay at the customer service because they don't want to wait in line like the rest of us slops. Should be tried and prosecuted.

But hey nobody died that day. And well, likely the OP all involved will forget about this world shifting event come tomorrow. Magnanimous event as it is, almost as significant as the coming of comet hale bopp.

The rest of us will likely forget about it in a few seconds. So as you can see, nobody made anything worse. Just making a mountain out of a molehill.

There's a song about people like this.

I have no problem telling people to use their manners. My main pet peeve these days is the folks who use fill the self serve checkouts with fully loaded trolleys when they're clearly designed and sized for hand baskets. Pisses off the staff too but they say head office tells them they cannot tell customers to use the correct line, even if it's taking a full trolley through 12 items or less.

I think it's getting worse because fewer people don't speak up. We used to call people out on their bull# as a society.
Now people are too worried if they speak up they'll be the bad guy or the person will flip their # at them.

See people being rude say something. I often find once one person speaks up others will join in.
You want to live in a civilized society you need to be considerate of others.

Honestly, you should all stop complaining, you created the world we all live on right now, or who did? You cry and cry and you were the ones in charge, stop being lame!

If you don't like it so die and forget it all. I was born in a f*cked world, you created it and now are lamely crying about it. Grow up already geezers! What's wrong with you. Stupid thread and all the things that have been said, and people running away when told the truth, you f*cked it all up and now you don't want to know about. Go die

So lame you are, why are you so lame? Rotting inside?

Already explained why i said that, you are afraid and lonely lmao, i know people like you. Unable to deal with your own life and current problems.

Are you triggered?

Yeet away in that case, no hard feeling or judgment

Consider the 'rude person' as someone that needs consideration.....quietly say 'hi would you mind moving up please....I am in a bit of a hurry'.
It seems that you feel more comfortable getting back up.......which is bullying and intimidation imo.

Why so full of hate to me? I wonder?

I don't hate you at all, i am different than you i know that, you are also different from me, i will never be the same or what you expect. But why do you hate me so much?

You say cheers but you don't feel it at all, it's clear

I don't even know how to begin with this. You are doing things that only take to in the wrong way, and you will probably hate even more now, but that's fine, all of this does not make any sense.

I'm sorry to interrupt but for me i would have just taken the stuff the guy had, place it on the bag and move him out of the way. I don't understand how not doing this is the root of this entire thread.

- There's a rock on this sidewalk, what should we do?
- Let's push it to the side and keep walking
- No, that's weird, let's ask about why there's a rock in the first place
- No, just move it around and let's get home! or let's step around it!
- Noo!!! i want to talk about why it is there and how come no one else moved it before meeeeeee!!!!!!!

It´s not hate. See, why do you think I hate you? Because I disagree? Please grow up so the adults can have a decent conversation.

You seldom read what others wrote or you just skim over it without even trying to understand their point. You´re also all over the place. You see words and you react to them, not the message.

Yes, because that´s not rude. Saying something is rude but physically taking short-time possesion of someones good to move them to another place is better.

You can have your last word now.

Read your own comment from past days, you are hating, you don't even get it at all, please stop. You are embarrassing yourself trying to turn things around, all past comments are there for everyone to see. Including the one you did not quote me on where you went all triggered about.

I don't need a "last word". You have nothing good to say, i have had way too interesting conversations with real smart people around this site, you are not one of those. I have nothing to learn from you and i came here to learn about American culture. You are not what i was looking for

Whatever you are from, you are not showing up true personality, just a weak one, so foolish to be like this.

I said something like "hey kid, can you slide down the counter and do that, we've got 5 people behind you, your not the only one here" - Again not loud but louder so he would here me this time and I wasn't pissy yet

That sounds pretty 'pissy' to me!!
"We've got 5 people behind you - you are not the only one here".
Why bring others in to the equation? It just makes you appear weak.........own what you say.

I am wondering if you would have said the same if it was a big burly man aged 40 dressed in leather biker gear?

I guess it all went confusing on us when you flipped what shouldn't have been flipped..

I'm 17 and i was though to be honest and gentle with people with problems, you are probably like a hundred years old and keep complaining you are not given a special place, talk about snow flake people!

"snowflake" and "save/special space" are terms used to characterize the young adults as being more prone to taking offense and less resilient than previous generations, or as being too emotionally vulnerable to cope with views that challenge their own...(wiki)

It doesn't make any sense to me

I can see this

- A grown up goes out to the street
- Something he doesn't like happens and he "triggers" a dumb guy out there who may or may not have a gazillions problems on his own
- Says dumb stuff and doesn't act on it to fix things right away
- Goes home then into the internet and bitches about how he lost 4 minutes of his precious life while being triggered by a slow guy

What is this? Trigger happy too much?

But let me tell you this, i have been called "snow flake" or the other thing you said lots and lots of times, but mostly when i said "oh wait how about not caring and doing this instead". And for me, like explained above, the old geezers are the actual snow flakes requiring a safe space

I guess it all went confusing on us when you flipped what shouldn't have been flipped..

Please explain when and how that came to happen. Because as i said before too many times. Just grab the stuff they guy has and put it on the bag an move him away, 10 seconds is all it takes and you will be done with it. Or not and come here and bitch about it for a zillion hours and create a numb thread about it, and here we aaaaaarreeeeeeeeee! lmfao!

This is sad

There is nothing 'peaceful' about labelling someone or a generation.

Why can't people just be seen and not labelled? Oh...so you know who to war with....and feel justified.
Love is seeing people as yourself...but no let's label everyone so they can be viewed different and then there is reason to hate.

The term (snowflake) is considered derogatory.

It´s a term that describes a certain kind of behavior.

Those of us who still know what hard work is, those who didn´t sit in front of a TV daily and watch toy commercials for christmas. Those of us who didn´t get everything shoved up their butts remember.

This is how you earn respect from your fellow people. For not being whiney because you got a small splinter you don´t need to drive to the hospital. Pull it out and life goes on.

You´re cold? Move and do something instead of complaining.
The food tastes different today? Well I guess you are not hungry enough.
You are throwing a tantrum because it´s not exactly what you wanted? Guess what, we had nothing but stones and sticks to play.

This is why the older generations cringes at the young for being the softies they are. This is what happens when the commons hardships in life are handled with velvet hands.

Yes, politeness, love and all the values, I value those too. But at some point it just get´s rediculous and does a disservice to the individual.

How is someone going to learn to achieve something on their own if they are padded their whole life? This is why we have young people in their 20´s who can´t cope with the slightest criticism.

I still cringe at the ideas here that this kid had to be OCD and how dare.

Guess what, I suffer from OCD. If someone makes fun of me because I need to sort stuff before I´m can find my peace, I smile at him/hrt and go on with my day. Or I could be deadly hurt, break out in tears and make a scene.

Guess what I don´t blame those people, I blame their parents. A bit of hardship in life hasn´t hurt anybody.
It´s always amusing, someone wrote it, when you have youngsters in their best phase of life not withstanding the environment a old chap can.

"oh it´s so hot today, I need to get an hour of sleep to replenish my powers".
Bull#. If an 55 year old can work all day in the sun without dying, you can too.

It´s not the problem of not being able to, it´s a problem of wanting to...

A free society. This. This is the price you pay for freedom. You have to put up with other people's #...You don't have to like it but you will tolerate it.

Isn't this thread kind of like a line in the supermarket? It takes time, it frustrates, people get impatient, people start calling names....etc etc

Now you haven't been very polite with the people not understanding your point of view....practice what you preach?

Peace
