As a psychology major, I disagree. The argument that is without basis is the conservative one, which relies on the Bible to define gender instead of science. Religious conservatives never have been good at grasping reality... that's the real mental illness.

Science is the modern religion. The church hijacked Jesus and sold their versions of Jesus truths through middle ages. Now they have science hijacked and selling its versions of truths.
If you want intersex fine but they will need to be identified on official records such as birth certificate and drivers license. Then society can give them their own toilets and rest rooms because they sure as hell wont be using ours.

So now the rad-fems I cited above are actually conservative because they make the cogent point that if there is no legal basis for separating male and female, then everything they fight for legally for women and girls is undermined? If we push the idea of male and female back to headspace only, then there is no real argument that can be made for women's rights as defined by what is a physically, biologically female human being in the full sense, not the surgically and hormonally altered one.

And make no mistake, I am on their side beyond the arguments of theology on this because I was a female athlete. I am watching the world erase the competitive field for future generations like myself. I am seeing girls grow up in a space where they may have to face doping to have any chance of competing because some man decides to call himself a (wo)man and benefit from natural testosterone juicing.

Im no Evangelical and I am happy just to see some common sense.

Same with the caravan, the more forceful of a reaction Trump throws at them, the happier i will be. If we accept this caravan, the next one will be twice as big and we just send the message to more to come. I would rather send the message that they are coming all this way for nothing and will be turned away so that others will get the hint and stay in their own country and clean up their own mess.

If they enter legally I have no problem with that. This is an army of invaders, carrying a flag that is not the American flag saying things like "F Trump he cant stop us he is only one person" as if our opinions do not matter. Dont they realize a lot of Americans agree with Trump?

This caravan is just proving even more that we need to secure our southern border. NOW!!!

And screw the goddamn trans people! I have never in my life seen a more selfish group of people! Who could live with themselves being a MAN competing against WOMEN and taking a first place trophy away from someone who earned it! How do you walk away feeling like a champion when you ROBBED someone!? What kind of example are we setting? And its not just one or two, its happening all over the place in any sport women are involved in!

I'm convinced fully now. Its a mental disorder. Only a mentally ill person could do that and think "Yay, I did it!"

Also noteworthy for those invoking the legitimate health and medical concerns of genuine intersex folks:

The proposal would define sex as either male or female, and any dispute about one's sex would have to be clarified through genetic testing

For the vast majority of people born intersex, this would be established at birth. What we don't know is how it would be recorded or documented, if they will be assigned a gender or perhaps declared "intersex" as their gender.

It also remains to be seen how "intersex" would be defined. Would it only include those with physical ambiguities? Or would it be expanded to include those with definite physical genitalia, but determined to be XXY for example?

If they're XX and taking testosterone, they should be disbarred for taking a banned substance ... like every other woman would be.

I know, I know, that's mean, but those are the rules for anyone else with the same physical body they were born with.

They need to make the choice: which is more important to them - serious athletic competition or attempting to mold their outward physical reality to their inward mental one?

As a Psychology major, you know (or should know) that psychology, and to a much greater extent psychiatry, is/are just pseudo-science. Yes, there is some legitimacy to the practice of psychology, as long as it doesn't start trying to treat all of their guesses (and there are a lot) about how the psyche actually works as reality. But psychiatry? That is one branch of pseudo-science that should be relegated to the dustbin of history as one massive fail.

It is only science...real science, that can prove that there are, really, only two sexes (not genders). What radical leftists call 'science' is mostly just pseudo-mumbledy-gumbo being pushed as 'science'.

It really has nothing to do with rights. You are born either male or female (except for a tminiscule amount with the birth defect where they contain both) .

Legally, they must request asylum in the first country they enter after leaving their home country - which, in this case, would be Mexico.
