Intel,

Are you related to Ann Coulter or Bill O'Reilly?

"President Bush is not as conservative as I would be or I'd like to see him, but for the moment, he's the best we've got. That's why he was voted back into office. "

I bet you think Hitler was soft on crime.

As for him being the best you have, do you think that in your whole country he is the best person to lead you? If so, god help you because no one else can.

Cheers

As you know, there are many extremists who would love to see this nation fail.

The difference being that the extremists currently in power are causing this nation to fail, all the while waving the flag like demented robots.

Dawnstar,

So why do you keep invading foreign countries?

Something makes me think that if on 911 the three planes had flown into the White House and the Capitol no one would have much minded.

They've hired the best actors money can find to play the important roles in the story!!

By the way, I'm lucky to get out of my little neck of the woods, I don't go around invading countries....

Dawnstar,

Do not play coy with me.

I have seen the video from the infamous 7-11 incident and as for that trip to ATM in Bognor Regis in 95, all I can say is WOW.

Springer, I really like the post on the perspective taken of the meeting. Personally I didn't get to see it televised so I can't make any comments on it. So far the post has pretty much kept away from the liberal/bush bashing, which is really awesome, but there is one post that I find very disturbing. It, infact, houses one of my greatest fears as to the direction some want this country to go. I even had a thread on it. This regarding Intelearthling's post.

Former-President Bill Clinton said the job is tough enough without all the critisism. Why don't these people listen to someone with presidential experience? The enemies of this nation are on Capital Hill and are labeled liberals.

Then why didn't we bomb capital hill rather than iraq or afganistan??? Basically what you are calling for is MaCarthyism all over again. Please, if you don't understand what I'm saying, research on what happened during that period in American history. As far as critisism, he was voted in by the people for the people, an is accountable by the people. It is our job as citizens to critisize, not to the point of bashing (any side/anyone), to keep the power in check. He is supposed to WORK for the country, not RULE it.

But the real enemies are the ones who put these people in office in the first place.

So I guess I am the enemy then. I voted for a Democratic senator, and governer, but I also voted Nader for president. That would also included 49% of the populace that voted in 2004 who voted Kerry, and over 50% of the populace from the 2000 elections that voted Gore.

Please Intel, sit and consider what it is you are saying, and asking for. This in a lot of ways is what leads to MaCarthyism. This is when America is no longer America. People have fought and bled and died for us to have the right to choose our destiny, as a society. To be able to ask and question ideas that may not be our own or contradict our own, and then decide for ourselves. We then have the right to express our opinons through the vote. That is where the true freedom of america comes into play more than anywhere else. Is this truly what you want?

sorry springer didn't want to dillute the thread, I just had to address this.

I think the best is yet to come, Springer; after all, Dubya now has a "mandate" and "political capital" to burn....

That's what really "concerns" me... He is going out and about like a knight on a white stallion.

I wonder just how long that "mandate" is going to hold if he continues this type of arrogance.

m...

As many times as I have defended "dubya" on this very board, I have to admit some concerns of my own. I don't know what's going down.

Hehe thats not very patriotic of you!
You are either for bush or anti america, you know that there is no middle ground here!!!

better watch out you dont become a communist dr horacid!

If conservatives such as Springer, Horacid, and TC can see something wrong, then thats all I can ask. There is hope yet.

True, Bush isn't a very good conservative at all. His current administration, in fact, has to be the weirdest and most un republican Ive ever seen. I used to actually support republicans in the old days during the time when liberals had degenerated into whining, quasi-socialist weenies.

But now this paticular Republican regime has degenrated into something really spooky.

When one removes the subjects still open to debate like 9/11, his military record, ect, one is still left with his insanity spending and inflation of our national debt, the shattered relations with former allies, his crazy plan to privatize social security (which failed miserably in Chile), a sputtering, choking economy, lower dollar value,.................

But its never to late so long as even those who once supported him, with the belief that he would implement better change and relations, if they can begin to question, then all hope aint lost.

Because thankfully, the constitution has a little built in security device for dealing with failed presidents and corrupted politicans: impeachment. Bush has barely begun his his second term, the option is still there for us should it get worse.

Skadi,

I have to ask, How dumb are the people who continue to support Bush?

It seems there is not any low Bush can sink to that these people will not defend.

How has someone so obviously not in full control of his meagre mental faculties managed to con so many people?

And so, the world will continue to snub us...

Hmph. I don't think much of Bush's brand of "Christianity" at all!

If he truly were a Christian, he wouldn't be starting illegal wars, he'd actually OBEY the Constitution (and the Bible of course), and he wouldn't be a cult member!

After all the crap Bush has spewed, that's the only thing you have a problem with? Say it ain't so!
I've had a problem with numerous things, in every one of his speeches. In fact, every time I hear him speak, I'm dumbfounded by what I hear come out of hius mouth. I'm still amazed that America goes along with this idiot.

Replying to my post? If so, it might be because I over-simplified things. I'm saying that if Bush were really a Christian he'd be going by the Constitution...and just about every single thing he's done is unconstitutional, from Iraq to No Child Left Behind, etc. Everything else follows, see what I'm saying? I just summed it all up.

Supposedly he was led to Christ by Billy Graham, who, BTW, is a 33rd degree Mason! Now how d'ye like them apples?

I, too, cringe when I hear Dubya speak. That's why I don't watch him!
