It is unusual if you have never been to that person's house and you decide to check upstairs for a bathroom.

unusual to check. yes

is it possible she asked someone there if there was a bathroom upstairs?

maybe these little things make the difference to some but imo it does not seem odd

Maybe the second girl from the polygraph that never came up again was in the downstairs bathroom.

Honestly it's odd but nothing to focus on which bathroom she used.

Sure it is possible....a LOT of scenarios are possible when you cant remember 90% of a night and every other person you say was there has no recollection of the party even happening.

It is the little details that make ALL the difference especially in this case.

yeah i dont know.
i just dont see that detail as a discrepancy.

i am not an architect but from my experience being in houses any split level house i have been in has a bathroom on the lower level and upper level but not the middle main level.
every 2 story house i have been in has had a bathroom on the upper level only and maybe a half in the basement level. not the main 1st floor level.

having said that i am more a hood type ohio dude so its not like i have been in a lot of nice #.

i just dont think it is a discrepancy

i dont disagree

i am just saying imo it is not strange for there to be a bathroom on that level and not strange she would use it

if it happened and if she was there

Opposite for me. Upstairs is family bathroom/showers and downstairs has the half bath for guests. I have little experience with split level, they aren't as popular in the Boston area.

But it's easy to find a reason she went up. I focus on things that can't be explained away.

TWO DOORS:

TWO bathrooms DOORS

TWO DOORS in her parents home so she came home w/o parents seeing her arrive back from party

TWO DOORS at Safeway (mom & her entered different doors so mom can't validate Mark Judge encounter in Safeway parking lot)

TWO DOORS in house remodel leading to Marriage Therapy

Interesting reoccurring theme.

i think area a price has a lot to do with it

up until i left Florida i had never been in a split level or even a 2 story. they just were not popular in my area unless they were high dollar.

then in ohio the ones i have been in are not high end at all

the house my mom had for 20 years was a 2 story with a basement. no bathroom on the main living room level.
full bathroom upstairs and a half in the basement.

my son and his mom live in a split level now.

no bathroom on the main level. full bathroom up and a half on the lower level

these are not high dollar houses

Just curious, but has the question of why she would use an upstairs bathroom, as opposed to the one on the main floor, ever come up?

This is one of the key questions I wanted answered.

I suppose she could say for privacy but if so then surely she asked permission and or directions before proceeding upstairs.
How did she even know where the bathroom was upstairs? Was she going to wander around? Or was the house one she had been at previously? Or of a floor plan she knew?

I also want to know if she knew the two boys were upstairs before she went.

In Boston they're all 2 story with a basement. No split level. I think I had 1 friend with a single story and basement every other house I can remember was 2 or more stories with a basement.

I am familiar with two popular styles of houses in the same general area.

The standard Colonial:
Two floors and basement. Main floor is the living room, powder room, kitchen dining etc... All accessed via a foyer with a switchback staircase for both levels. Upper floor is bedrooms with a hall bathroom immediately at the top of the stairs.

The standard New England Split.
Two floors. Enter front door at the split level and then you must go up a flight of stairs to the bedrooms or down a flight of stairs to the living areas. I've never been in one where there wasn't a powder room on the living area level.

Of course who knows what the layout was...

They exist but where I'm from most of the houses predate split level and it's just not a popular style. House I grew up in was built in 1910.

It's pretty standard to have a 1/2 bath on the living level. A true split level will have 1/2 bath at the mid or living level. 1/2 bath is a toilet & sink.

Of course, you will have full bath at sleeping levels.

So, Ford must have went looking for Judge or the potty downstairs was occupied. When did she actually get to pee during all this sexual assault?

Let's hash this out:

Squi is Kavanaugh's friend who Ford claimed she was "going out with" for a "couple of months" before the incident. She also claims she was friends primarily with Squi's brother.

Kavanaugh says he didn't run in the same circles as Ford but his friend Squi was "going out with her" and Mark evidently knew her as well.

Was she known by Squi's friends as his girlfriend? Does Leland remember Ford was "going out with" Squi?

This is the most convoluted teen angst movie I've ever scene. Seriously tho, why can't anyone get to the bottom of who knew who and when among this group? And where are all the pictures. Did none of these prep school kids have a Kodak 110 camera?

I also think the issue here is her phrase about a short staircase. Was it a switchback with landing or only a short staircase to a floor only a few feet higher?

Also I've seen that then term for split level is completely different in the New England area than in the south or Midwest.

I don't know. Every 2 story house I have seen has a 1/2 bathroom on the first floor. I have a 3 story where the 2nd story is actually the main and I have a 1/2 bathroom and a full one down stairs. Top floor is two full, but when we have a party we typically keep bedroom doors locked since we do not want kids etc going in what is considered private areas.
