Good bye/riddance, Mr. Rosenstein. I imagine now he's down to his last 24/48 hours as deputy AG/acting AG. Hope President Trump fires his rear-end, he has done nothing but work against the agenda from the start and it has been glaringly obvious.

Worst part is, Rosenstein probably doesn't even think he's doing anything wrong. That is how ideologically corrupt some of these people are, and the demented rationale they use to subvert our Constitution and the result of the Presidential election

By failing to comply with Congressional oversight demands and by committing acts of outright insubordination (if not worse) I can think of no one more deserving of a pink slip. There is plenty of "for cause" to dismiss him, but revoking his security clearance would be more immediate and without reproach.

After looking at this since I got home, I think this is a trick. A leaked story for the express purpos of trying to get the President to fire Rosenstein prior to November. It would be Comey part 2......the Dems hated the man, wanted him fired in the worst way, and President Trump does it and all hell breaks loose. He is now thought of as a victim of an overzealous President, looking to stop an investigation.

The same will happen here if President Trump takes the bait. Ask yourself, why would the NYT's print this?? They are all anti Trump, pro Russian Collusion all the time. The story effectively poops all over it, why would they run it?? Imo it was either the Mueller team, or McCabe himself that leaked this story. They know they have ZERO with the collusion angle, so they DESPERATELY want to go with obstruction, but need more ammo. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.

I guess I dont follow what your point is? I will go on record and say that the NYTs is very biased. They dont go out of there way to report fake news BUT they use the same left wing tactics seen here on ATS. Lots of goalposts are moved and they spin better than my washing machine.
This reporter seems to have an axe to grind so I dont think the NYTs is 100% behind this one.

No, of course it wouldn't be okay to plan a coup. We have lawful procedures for removing leaders from office if it becomes necessary. Was the discussion of impeaching Clinton a seditious conspiracy? How about when Linda Tripp, a White House employee held over from the Bush administration secretly recorded conversations with Lewinsky and handed them over to Starr? Deep state Linda Tripp? If Clinton had been removed from office by the Senate, would that have been a deep state coup?

The 25th Amendment allows for the VP and the cabinet (or a body approved by Congress) to act to remove a president if he suffers some sort of incapacitation or disability which makes him unable to serve. Being clinically insane would qualify. Also, if you're wondering, the President can reject that decision and then it goes to Congress where a two-thirds vote would be required. So unless the President was incapable of even protesting, the VP+cabinet couldn't really do anything as it would end up in the hands of Congress.

As I said from the jump though, I think any 25th Amendment talk about Trump's mental state is bull#. He's not insane and his cognitive function is better than half his moronic supporters in Congress. That's why I think Rosenstein was almost certainly being sarcastic.

I did not. I also never jumped on an internet forum and labeled an entire group of people as being of the exact same mindset. You were blabbing on and on about how WE all of a sudden believe what the NYTs has to say. Do you believe them in this case or are you a hypocrite and only trust them when it fits your agenda?

I would say no, with caveats though

The actual discussion of trying to get trump out isn’t illegal

But when you factor in the attempts to wear a wire, it gets sketchier

However, the real problem is if these are true then how did that affect his actions suggesting firing comey and appointing mueller

Why would he recommend firing comey if he though trump was crazy or terrible? He should have said no and resigned

Instead he recommends the firing, then appoints mueller to look at among other things obstruction

If Rosenstein was trying to get trump out of office because he thought he was so bad, and contemplating wearing a wire to help do so, then he had no business being involved in any decisions involving a special counsel

He should have recused himself

Instead, this man that wants trump out so bad he was going to wear a wire (if the story is true) appoints the mentor of comey, the man that was so out to get trump that he leaked memos to get a special counsel appointed

This reaks of a setup, or if not that incredible bias

There needs to be an investigation into this

Trump should go ahead and fire him.

And also he should have some balls and fire Mueller too.
