That depends on motives, and associated activities. Talking about it is not a crime. Talking about it with other folks adds a layer of legal peril. It adds a taint of "conspiracy" to it, which is the legal term for a specific type of criminal charge.

Provable associated information gathering, or discussion with others adds another layer of jeopardy. All these things can be refuted in a court room, ultimately... but, if there is a pattern that suggests planning, and it involves multiple persons, it starts looking an awful lot like conspiracy and sedition.

His statement alone is not a crime. If you have kept up on the fact patterns uncovered thus far, and the reasons for firings, demotions, hiring of the U.S. Attorney John Huber as a prosecutor, and the empaneling of a Grand Jury... this statement is not the only problem Mr. Rosenstein has.

There are some here, that could go to jail for a very long time. A handful, could be charged with Treason, based on the fact patterns. Much will depend on the Administration, and how the people feel about it.

Traitors could plea to sedition in plea bargains. John Brennan... who is a traitor, I would be happy to see him charged and convicted of Treason.

FWIW... do not be surprised, if you see some media suddenly seem to shift to a more sympathetic reporting of news, regards to the Administration. They are losing... and are facing irrelevance and the destruction of their businesses because of the mass peddling of "opinion" being sold as news.

The wheels are starting to come off the !RUSSIA! ruse, and seditious and traitorous actions on the part of folks very high up in the previous administration are starting to float up to the top.

George Papodopoulos is getting very vocal about this being and illegal spying operation on the Trump campaign, with a big assist from Australia and Britains GCHQ. (Remember the phone call Trump got a couple of days ago, from AU and the UK, asking him to please NOT declassify the last FISA warrant from 2017?)

If Hillary had won... we would know NONE of this.

No matter what you think of Trump... what the IC, FBI, and DOJ did are actual crimes against the people of the United States. They never imagined she would lose. They had multiple schemes in play to insure they got enough physical votes to put Hillary over the top to win. In Detroit, they stopped the recount... and shut everyone up... because in most precincts, they were far more ballots cast than there are residents of those precincts. These were votes mostly for Hillary. It caused a real sh*tstorm, and in less than a week, it was scrubbed from the media.

Gonna guess you haven't actually seen Chet Huntley, David Brinkley and Walter Cronkite... or know the difference between an "Op Ed" and hard news?

There is actually a legacy of Ethics in Journalism in the United States. It is no longer followed by Cable "News" Programs, whether they are MSNBS, CNN, or FAUX news.

In fact, most of the "news" programs avoid talking much about being news programs, because they are not. All they do is get a bunch of biased talking heads sitting around, take a story, and then wrap it in their opinions without even trying to conceal their opinion bias.

Anyway... I understand why you would make a remark like that... I'm 61 years old, and odds are HIGH you are significantly younger, and have very little experience or memory of when REAL journalists reported hard news, and LEFT THEIR BIAS AND OPINIONS OUT OF IT.

THAT'S reporting the news. Not this crap we see today.

Rosenstein may have been joking.

Just like Strozok and Page were "joking" about their quote "Secret society" and "insurance policy" to prevent Trump from becoming President and/or attempting to abuse the criminal justice system to harm his Presidency that route (hence the deep state)

These actions are inexcusable. The DOJ is under the Executive Branch of the government and thus reports directly to the President. Trump is Rosenstein's superior, and his attempts to undermine the President show he does not belong in the administration.

Separation of powers refers to separation between our three branches of government: executive, judicial, legislative and not between employer/employee or entities within the same branch. Rosenstein, FBI and DOJ report to Trump. The AG is a cabinet position, an appointed political office, charged with assisting the President with his duty to enforce and execute the laws written by Congress.

The motivation is irrelevant. The Constitution does not provide a mechanism for the Deputy A.G. to remove a sitting President under any circumstance. The Constitution makes very clear how that may happen: 1) incapacitation per the 25th amendment 2) impeachment by the House and conviction by 2/3 of the Senate. Rosenstein is not a party to either of those remedies. He has no Constitution role in removing a President. His actions alone are what he will be judged by, since the law generally does not require a finding of intent only actual violation. Rosenstein, of all people, should know this.

Who is behind all the taping of the President? Michael Cohen was taping him, Omarosa was trying to tape, then now we hear this story with Rosenstein. Seems a little orchestrated.
