Sounds to me like the feds had someone on the inside at the observatory monitoring some piece of equipment that they then extracted along with the person.
If that’s the case I wonder what kind of equipment it was?
Sure does, doesn't it.
According to the documents, the observatory’s chief observer reportedly informed his superior when he discovered a black Lenovo laptop with concerning material on it. The superior then alerted the FBI who narrowed down the suspect list and then found that only one of those suspects’ timelines lined up with the suspicious online activity, court documents show. Additionally, the chief observer reported seeing the laptop near cleaning supplies. After FBI seized the computer, the suspect reportedly began expressing concern about loose security and said he was worried that someone was entering the facility at night and stealing internet service and toilet paper.

Because I'm not going to burn people that do know and do tell what is going on. I never have and I'm not going to start now. There's a fine line that can be walked but cross it and you screw someone.

Scrounge bags are bags that maintenance people keep around that have the most common spare parts in them. If something gets sent out with a bunch of extra parts, some of those parts make their way into a bag somewhere. If you don't want them out there, you need to find them.

There are a lot more than officials that know what's going on. There are a lot of working class people that work on these projects, and they like to talk to people, especially people they trust. They can't exactly go to their usual friends and sit down, so they find people that are in the industry or former industry and talk to them, because they get it.
If you don't like it, you don't have to read what I say.

It’s about reading between the lines. People in the know will answer your questions more often than not, but they answer them in a way that isn’t an answer. It’s more about how they say what they’re saying than what they’re saying.
Source: I’ve spent years trying to pry information out of tight lipped family members, who have never given me a literal answer to anything. After a while, you pick up on the cues.
If Zaph or anyone else knows what’s really going on, I don’t blame them for not just coming right out and saying it. They’d probably be throwing friends of theirs under the bus by doing that.

You just described my entire life. I know the game. We have much in common. There are better ways to pass info on.

Then why try to put him on the spot in front of everyone? Follow the breadcrumbs and find your info if you know what to do. It’s also a lot more fun than just being told outright what’s going on.
I'm not worried.

It just does not add up at all. I think someone has been reading too much Q.

Well, given his professional background, I don't doubt he knows what he's talking about...
