You Nats baffle me, want independence but also want to bend over and get shafted up the proverbial by the EU that has openly admitted they wish to abolish democratically elected national assemblies and place ALL power in Brussels and Strasbourg.
No Holyrood, no devolved power....nothing.

A total irrelevance to the EU commissars.

That's not my idea of independence.

Where have they admitted that?

I read European news in three languages and I never read anything about this.

Scotland is much better independent but part of the EU. In the EU every treaty change has to be approved unanimously by all 27 countries. In the UK Scotland has been ignored, even though Scotland has been paying billions into the British economy.

The UK is made up of 4 countries + Gibraltar: Scotland,Northern Ireland and Gibraltar voted to remain. England and Wales voted to leave. If the UK was as democratic as the EU then the UK wouldn't be able to leave as there is no unanimous agreement.

Also, it's not only the Scottish people that talk about 'doom', most English academics an other experts warn of the same: if the UK leaves without a deal you couldn't even trade under WTO terms because one of the main rules is that 55% of each product the UK wants to sell has to be made in the country, which means not even British cars fit the WTO criteria.

Scotland will be so much better independent with the EU. Scotland is such a rich country that pays Westminster more than it gets back. If Scotland was such a burden as the Brexiteers say, Westminster would have kicked it out of the UK a long time ago. But it doesn't even want to let go of Scotland now, because it needs its riches and money.

And I am saying with an unbiased view, as I am not Scottish.

Mate broadband ruined porn for me. LoL

Bang gone are the days when you had to seek out such on roofs or the bushes.

These days some good old doom porn is just about the only manner one can get there rocks off.

Brexit hardly equates to doom porn through, more like socioeconomic stagnation for the next 20-30 years where the rich get richer and everyone else gets made to do with far less than the previous generation.

Brexit is Dickensian if anything. LoL

naww nae wild haggis , but the butcher he kens a boy who hunts it !

Aye , I think the doom porn stuff is pertty far fetched , but I know for a fact that when the government need to make savings the first thing to go is the NHS ! which will only cause more and more problems for the unhealthy citizens
and those who depend on the NHS every day.

then all the other services we publicly own !

I am with you on complete reform , but how to force the hand to that !

the system we have now refuse to make changes for the people , we are still under the cosh
I think brexit is a good thing because it may open up criticism of how well our government govern !
and we could potentially force them to admit that government isnt fit for purpose

its a bit of a pipe dream like but its something to hope for !

I just hope that whatever happens there isnt riots and loads of folk get injured etc !
I do hope the government get rumbled for the liars they are and we use brexit to declare they arent fit to lead us !

aye but the UK is still in the haze of the last recession from 2000
so its more of the same for the next 10 -20 years!

You know the older I get the less I want government , they just seem irrelevant to me
like we don't need anyone to govern us , no one should rule over us !
we are aware of laws as they are natural

in my opinion governments were instituted amongst society in order to maintain power for selected groups of people !
everyone else be damned !

Id be happy if we abolished government all together but of course that makes me a weirdo , everyone depends on government , I dont want to support their system of corruption.
I dont want my taxes to go towards the death of other humans overseas!
and I dont support any government who peddles in death and suffering !

Lol, why do you think it is a stupid idea?
Over half of the voting population of the UK disagreed with you, why should your lame 2 line comment make any difference?
Got anything to debate or is "it's a stupid idea" as far as your debating skills go.
Seems to me you should take that crap back to Facebook and not ATS.

Would half the population of the UK disagree if asked now?

Half of the people who voted for Brexit probably done so down to the immigration aspects touted at the time.

The vote would be rather different now people can see the debacle for what it is, that being untenable at best and at worst downright detrimental to most of the population for the foreseeable future.

wasnt everyone hoodwinked into believing that a vote for Brexit meant increase in Funds to the NHS as well as reduction in immigration ?

or was that just another of the tory parties schemes to gain votes ?

That's your opinion mate, maybe if enough people agree with you then you'll get your second referendum...good luck with that though because I don't see it happening.
I see a strong independent UK in the medium term and I'm looking forward to it.

We haven't stopped paying billions each year to the EU yet. Let's actually leave first before questioning the budget.

Snap election seems to be the ticket.

It's not like it's not been done it before, but that does not fit with Mrs May ambitions.
