Elon is a truth teller, which makes him somewhat immune to vampires.
What a legend, that can remain human.
I f*cking loved this interview.
F*ck the na sayers. I would bet the the future of mankind rest on this kind of soul.
He is clearly struggling emotionally/spiritually, and the vampires want to push him under.
These sentiments are what should make investors very comfortable in a long term bet.
He can be what he is, and not be a narcissist, this is the most rare and valuable thing.
Go Elon.

Oh man... Well, I know what I am watching when I get home tonight!

I am a massive fan of Mr Rogan's podcast (not everything he says mind, but the way he approaches things? Absolutely), and that he had Mr Musk on the Joe Rogan Experience is just fantastic for him, and for the listeners/viewers out there on YouTube. I am REALLY looking forward to this.

As for Mr Musk smoking a joint? What of it? He is a smart man, with weight on his shoulders, a business to run, and a brain that operates at a break neck pace. Good for him, not letting perceptions interfere with his decision making.

Same I'll be watching when I get home and would people be upset if he had a whiskey with Rogan and got tipsy?

Who cares if he smoked a blunt it's legal in that state and i think it's good PR for Mr musk

I really don’t understand the growing disdain for Musk. I don’t. He’s an inspiration who does more in one week of his life than most will do in a lifetime. He’s going to swing and miss from time to time but at least he’s swinging. He’s trying to make the world a better place, I don’t see anything wrong with that.

The ones upset cause he took a puff off a joint are petty. He’s an oddball, sure. But he seems like a solid human being that’s doing a lot of cool sh!t.

I’m bumping this cause it’s immensly captivating. The subject that is artificial intelligence is rapidly approaching a point where we will have to confront it head on. Here’s a guy who is at or near the forefront of that technology discussing his own perspective on it....and as he says it...with a fatalist mentality.

He is just as likely to be remembered like John delorean. Without a time machine though.

Oh c'mon. Delorean never had a NASA contract. Delorean Motor Company only ever produced one model. There was nothing very original about its design, nor any technological innovations of note. It was a aesthetic-concept car that just happened to reach production. Delorean was already 50 years old when he started his auto company, and his product was underperformed by any sports-car standard. And so on.

There's really no comparison.

Elon realizes that it is actually his job to solve this, but he is going through a tough time trying to fix more pressing issues. He will prevail and re-double his effort in AI, as instruccted by Gabriel.

Going to watch full podcast later but I just watched the weed clip.

He pulled like Clinton and didn't inhale.

Even if he did it's legal in California so what's the big deal

Rogan suggested that the smoke was in fact a joint, not a blunt. A blunt only contains THE herb, not tobacco as well.

Its not a regional thing, take it from a Coloradan. A joint is rolled with a paper, rolling paper. Often it can even be tan hemp paper. Or these days the papers come in 'cone' form already with a mouthpiece bit and then you just pack it in.

A blunt is longer for one, and it is rolled inside the tobacco leaves of a cigarillo. A cigar wrap. Or just a blunt wrap as they are sold here. You used to have to buy a swisher sweet cigarillo, cut it open, replace the tobacco with marijuana and re roll. No longer necesarry.

Watching this interview again,it is a cultural phenomenon.
Lots of detail and depth of meaning.

'...where AI serves as a tertiary cognition layer..'

@17:59

“…And if that’s the case, and billions of people do it, then the outcome of humanity will be sum of human will, the sum of billions of people’s desire for the future…”

Strikes a deep chord
becomes political.
begs the question

If this technology got into socialist[state] or capitalist[corporate] hands .... ?

Elon appears to be an Industrialist for the good of human kind in the archetype of John Galt and Nelson Mandela combined.

he is beyond traditional political stereotypes.
He can be as liberal as he likes, if he can afford it.
You should try loosing $3BN for having a whiskey and a joint.

this podcast is amazing.

everyone should watch.

btw i think it is hilarious that i said nobody would care if he had a drink with rogan and they are drinking whiskey right now.

i did not know that until right now. all the tweets and articles with the omg he smoked a joint.
people saying it was a bad move

but them drinking a glass of whiskey is fine. and i do mean glass. he has a good size tumbler type deal.
this AI talk is fantastic.

talking about the data rate problem between us and computers. how all the info is there but our fingers are slow.

imagine being able to look something up on wiki for example. by the time you are done thinking about looking it up youve already accessed it.

craziness

It’s some far out stuff. I’d really like to know about his NueralLink Project and what they’re on the brink of being able to do. I don’t know if it scares me or excites me. Crazy times!

Any one else get the feeling he might be our present version of J. Robert Oppenheimer? He just hasn't made the mistake yet...

www.youtube.com...

It may be that AI will one day make him quote Robert Oppenheimer....... "Now I am become death, destroyer of worlds" in his own fashion knowing the risk mankind might likely face. AI may indeed become our taskmasters in a not too distant future.

I just started watching this, and one of the most interesting ideas is when Elon says that the internet is a representation of our subconscious.

That alone gives me a ton of ideas, especially concerning A.I.
