I don't think partisanship has anything to do with this.

I agree. I suspect it has to do with the current climate of raising criticisms to Islam and the incorrect perception of it being 'racist', therefore, no one is pointing a finger and saying, 'You need to stop that, your belief structure is wrong to be so intolerant'.

I guess, we have to be tolerant of intolerance. Sigh...
