I think this will be a good thing for vets. Show them that they themselves are appreciated.

I fail to see how a display of military might will make Vets feel appreciated.

Hahaha when I saw the title I thought "Southern Guardian"!

Clicked on the thread just to see if I was right...
I was!
Yeah no kidding. I actually read the source article earlier long before I came on ATS, but I figured at some point, some user would take it and bust out the ol'tap dance and spin, I wasn't disappointed 😌😒

A fraction of that $92,000,000 would feed, house and fix lives.

What is it spent on? Ego.

I dunno about the rest of you sane people, but I'm ultimately sick and tired of watching rich politicians take everything, and give back *nothing*.

I hope no one shows up.

I hope those who think this is a useless "Flash & Bang" to make Trump feel Biggie -- boycott it.

How was the VA run under Obama?

In a word? Poorly.

But the Obama administration was hardly unique in that. When my Dad would go for his regular checkups at the VA, a 9 AM appointment would sometimes, if he was truly unlucky, be around 11 AM. Usually, it was around 10 AM. That was during the Bush II, and Obama admins. So...it's hardly only Obama.

Never thought to actually defend, however reluctantly, Obama...

Um, they take taxes from us and give it to people that need food, housing, etc.

Oh I know, but these threads generally start out as whataboutisms anyway.

Gee- I always thought vets would feel appreciated by fixing the completely arsed Vet Administration, so like say, IT WORKS LIKE IT SHOULD.

And before ya ask... Yes. I *am* a vet. Got my DD-214 and my Iraq "played nice in a war" ribbon. And not anything of actual substance otherwise.

Well, we have someone in office wishing to fix it. You can support him in this effort, or refuse to and just kick the can down the road. What have you got to lose at this point?

No... they take taxes from you, throw people crumbs, drive off in 2-3 luxury cars, own 2-3 houses, dress better than ANY of us, eat better, and tell YOU that all of it goes to help- which it obviously doesn't.

I'm all for putting *servant* back into "public SERVANT".

It's always partisan politics with yall around here.

When Obama was president you didn't post a thread every few days about how he wasted a ton of money on stupid things.

Just like today, none of Trumps's team posts anything griping about how he's wasteful...

Truth of the matter is that all of you are full of #.
Both teams are wasteful and corrupted, and you ignore all the wrongdoing of your side while going on and on all day about how the other side is so horrible.

The lot of ya is what's wrong with this nation, and I've been sick of it for decades.
Forgive me if I think you're all complete fakes because I can't help but face the facts of reality.

Have to ask then... when did you serve and what branch?

Since you seem to have some insight on the topic...

Now you understand why Trump was elected.

Trump has donated his presidential salary to rebuild military cemeteries.

socialnewsdaily.com...

And he's donated it to the VA as well..

Let's see here, 21 million vets in the USA splitting up 100 million dollars. That's roughly 5 $ a piece.

Normally I'd say just give the $ to the vets as a bonus but a 5$ bonus is a slap in the face.
Sigh... we are so bankrupt.
