I think this will be a good thing for vets. Show them that they themselves are appreciated.
Yeah no kidding. I actually read the source article earlier long before I came on ATS, but I figured at some point, some user would take it and bust out the ol'tap dance and spin, I wasn't disappointed 😌😒

I fail to see how a display of military might will make Vets feel appreciated.

How was the VA run under Obama?

A fraction of that $92,000,000 would feed, house and fix lives.
What is it spent on? Ego.
I dunno about the rest of you sane people, but I'm ultimately sick and tired of watching rich politicians take everything, and give back *nothing*.

In a word? Poorly.
But the Obama administration was hardly unique in that. When my Dad would go for his regular checkups at the VA, a 9 AM appointment would sometimes, if he was truly unlucky, be around 11 AM. Usually, it was around 10 AM. That was during the Bush II, and Obama admins. So...it's hardly only Obama.
Never thought to actually defend, however reluctantly, Obama...

Gee- I always thought vets would feel appreciated by fixing the completely arsed Vet Administration, so like say, IT WORKS LIKE IT SHOULD.
And before ya ask... Yes. I *am* a vet. Got my DD-214 and my Iraq "played nice in a war" ribbon. And not anything of actual substance otherwise.

Um, they take taxes from us and give it to people that need food, housing, etc.

No... they take taxes from you, throw people crumbs, drive off in 2-3 luxury cars, own 2-3 houses, dress better than ANY of us, eat better, and tell YOU that all of it goes to help- which it obviously doesn't.
I'm all for putting *servant* back into "public SERVANT".

I hope no one shows up.
I hope those who think this is a useless "Flash & Bang" to make Trump feel Biggie -- boycott it.
Hope all you want. Will not change anything.

Have to ask then... when did you serve and what branch?
Since you seem to have some insight on the topic...
