There are also more than a few blue states that would join the Convention just to overturn Citizen's United.

Those blues never bothered to read it.

The United States Supreme Court held (5–4) on January 21, 2010, that the free speech clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution prohibits the government from restricting independent expenditures for communications by nonprofit corporations, for-profit corporations, labor unions, and other associations.[2

en.wikipedia.org...

Because it means labor unions, pac's,and super pacs as well.

They may whine about CU, but they really do not want it gone.

You are perhaps forgetting that the Federal government would not be involved in the process.

So the midterm elections really don't matter.

There are also more than a few blue states that would join the Convention just to overturn Citizen's United.

I love you both. But siding with Neo's apprehension on this one. Think of how corrupt our government is from the local/state/federal.

They know we are ready to revolt because they orchestrated this whole damn snip show! Do you really trust them to change our Constitution????

Here's another take.

In the DNC/Sanders lawsuit ruled in favor of the DNC because it was a private corp.

Get rid of Citizen United. Get rid of the DNC.

ivn.us...

Update: A federal judge dismissed the DNC lawsuit on August 28. The court recognized that the DNC treated voters unfairly, but ruled that the DNC is a private corporation; therefore, voters cannot protect their rights by turning to the courts:

How does the government operate without tax dollars?

Hopefully it doesn’t.

The federal government is a thorn in the side of the American people.

Can we make this happen?

Yeah there you go, bend over and beg for it.

Do you realize you're asking for the congress with the worst approval rating ever to change the constitution? This is the last congress I would ever trust with something this serious.

Now would be a good time to invest in wall building equipment. We're going to need a few more walls.

Yea because some people are easily distracted by BS issues that are irrelevant to the actual problems..

The problem isn’t principled psychopaths who take power and refuse to give it up..

The problem is politicians being paid off to act to the benefit of their big donors at the expense of the American people ..

If you ever had a King Author type principled politician who couldn’t be bought and ALWAYS acted in the best intrest of the American people. WHY WOULD YOU WANT HIM TO QUIT?!!

Unless your a corporation mad because you can’t pay him off..

It is just like everthing else from the right. They get the uneducated to pay attention to problems with people who don’t even run anything...

Illegal immigrants don’t make laws or run anything ..

Thugs don’t make laws or run anything..

Gays don’t make laws or run anything..

Blacks don’t make laws nor run anything..

Muslims don’t make the laws or run anything..

White Christian make republicans run everything.. they make all the laws.. all the corruption in politics is 100% perpetrated by them..

Not all white Christian males run things, but of the people that run things, they are almost all white Christian males..

They dangle BS stuff for people to get mad at whole them and their donors rape and pillage the economy..

It is propaganda for stupid people..

Perhaps they dont need Union money like the GOP needs dark money?

It could make Unions stronger too if they dont have to spend money on campaigns.

So win win for DEMs.

They'll keep CU.

What they will do is get rid of corporations, and stack the deck in their favor with the rest.

From the DNC convention we know D's don't like fair fights.

Young black male democrats ruin everything.. they break all the laws.. all the corruption in the streets is 100% perpetrated by them..

They dangle potent stuff for people to get high on while them and their homies rape and pillage the neighborhood...

Explain something for me...

You go on and on and on about how nothing would change, without offering an alternative which means you are in favor of the status quo which means nothing changes and the same people that have gutted the economy are in charge of the economy.

Trump isn't the problem, Obama wasn't the problem Bush jr wasn't the problem, the problem is and has been for quite sometime Congress.

We removed the ability of a president to stay longer than 2 terms, why not congress?

The left government members would only support this if THEY were the ones directing it all from behind the scenes. SO THEY COULD ABUSE IT, make it their own, for their own gain.

Then they would reinstate that lucrative income tax.

I can't see the right side government members like the "McCain" types, Paul Ryan types, and Mitch McConnell types liking this either.

Giving power and freedom and wealth back to the people who should actually have it is a big NO-NO for all of these people.

Who is ALEC?

ALEC is a corporate lobbying group that brings together corporate lobbyists and politicians to vote on “model bills” behind closed doors as equals, without any public input, that often benefit the corporations’ bottom line. These model bills are then introduced in state legislatures across the country.

I didn't get this from a website but a bing search so no link. But if you type into Bing "alec group" that is what pops up. So hell no! If they are the ones pushing for this, I'm out!

Lobbying should be banned and part of this as well, and since it isn't, it tells us the lobbyists are the ones pushing it.

It’s funny they don’t want to address any of the actual institutional problems that matter..

A) Term limits only matter because we are allowing corporations and big donors to buy and sell politicians..

Everything you listed are symptoms of the corruption that no republican has ever even mentioned it existed..

Exactly!
Term limits alone would not solve the corruption if corporations can still lobby.
What would happen is, they would put their puppets in power and do as much damage as possible in what little time they have to work for their benefactors.

I'd love my home state to veto the Brady Handgun Prevention Act,and the machine gun ban

Oh my god you people are so insane. Banning machine guns is probably the smartest thing our country ever did. Yeah, instead of people running around like madmen with AR-15s let's upgrade all the crazies to machine guns!!

Unbelievably stupid and deluded. How the hell would this do anything to solve any of the problems with our country?!

Bait and switch is right.

I wouldn't trust any of these rat bastards.

I just can't. If integrity had weight, congress would float away.

They screwed up. Year after year after year after year they promise and lie.

If "Bitch Slapping" was a form of greeting, I'd say "Hi" to each and every one of these asstards daily.

Why aren't YOU on youtube? Pretty much nailed it.

It could be bait and switch. but gotta see where they take this one. time will tell though.
But I honestly do not see the left standing by quietly. Or even top players on the right. It is a game of thrones for them, but we the people can break the wheel

SO many people are failing to realize a constitutional convention is different than just having the congress and senate in washington decide on stuff. no we need a 3/4th of all states to ratify a new amendment with one of those if i remember correctly.

You do realize that women bend over and beg for it.

Where is the homophobia there? The gay sex part is where? I'm bi... please tell me what you think is in any way even remotely gay or homophobic in the term bend over and beg for it?

I am going to go with just projection on your part. Or wishful thinking.
