Like her or hate her, it's a good move for her. You never want to debate a pundit. They all have agendas, generally to insult and put down "the other side". It's never about policy. You see that if you watch any shows on MSNBC< FOX News or listen to talk radio.

As a politician she should be debating other politicians.

Even Ben is just as bad as the rest of them.

My grandfather once told me that any person that won't speak out about the ills of his own flock can't be trusted. All of these pundits have blinders on about the ills of their "Party" that's why you know you can't trust them.

I disagree, Ben definitely clings to ideology but not party. He is a pretty big critic of Trump, so its more ideology over party for him than vise versa.

But I get where you're coming from. At the end of the day, he is a pundit, which is why I wanted to frame the OP as such right off the bat.

Edit: While it's not common for politicians not to debate pundits, and I see why she isn't, I don't think she handled this well.

I don't know...I've seen Shapiro come down pretty hard on Trump many times.

His fondness of Trump pretty much stops at the fact he isn't Hillary.

Yeah, but that's easy. Trump does enough stupid stuff says enough stupid stuff that it's pretty easy to come down on him and criticize him, come across as a moderate level headed guy but still be almost 100% against any liberal ideas and philosophy.

Smart move by her.

Pretty sure pundits don't debate, they control the dialog.
It's their show, it's what they do.

The catcalling line was a good analogy.

Again, I get why she wouldn't do it.

How do you figure that catcalling analogy is a good fit? How was his offer rude or sexual?

Is insinuating that everyone she disgrees with, is a sexual-predator going to be her default goto defense ? Ya, her handler was smart enough to tell her, she's in over her head actually debating something. But was the idea to make slanderous statements about men, and Shapiro specificly her idea ? Or was this a dog-whistle (get it catcall...) to ruse her supporters into ignoring the fact she is vapid ?

Ben would wipe the floor with her and she know it.

She can't go into enemy territory. Like many liberal millennials, shes never had her positions really challenged.

Lmao. Is this how it works? Well then I challenge Donald Trump to a public debate. If he doesn't give me what I want, he's a coward.

It’s a weak move by her, instead of debating him about her platform she instead likens his invite to sexual harassment.

Being close to Brooklyn, you think someone would know that is highly offensive to just throw out at someone who is an Orthodox Jew.

"I don't owe you a response." - her response.

Trump is the president, he doesn’t have the time to argue with every Liberal.
Cortez is basically a nobody, she should welcome the chance to make her socialist case to anyone that will listen and make 10G at the same time.
She would be exposed as the total disaster that she is by Shapiro.

It was political version of catcalling....I think that was the analogy.

TO be honest, I was also thinking this:

"hey lady, here is some money, entertain me"

lol

Ahhhh, gotchya. I didn't think about it that way.

I see where you're coming from, and if that's the case, I get it.

Still think it was a bad move on her part though, just my opinion though.

Part of me doesn't want her to screw up her run and make people laugh at young charismatic politicians with different platforms. I can count on one hand how many politicians I've voted for with a (R) or (D) next to their name.

This is fantastic, and it opens up the arena for a lot of us. Ben Shapiro is not a journalist, so if she were to accept, it would open up the door for me to challenge Donald Trump to a debate! I am not a journalist either!

I have FULL confidence that in a one on one debate with no ear devices or helpers, I would WIPE THE FLOOR with DJT in a debate.

Please, please, please change your mind and accept!

Edit: hah ante beat me to it, I hadn't made it to the 2nd page.

Just deflecting a simple im scared to debate you would have been much better. We need more honesty out of people running for political positions. Admitting she doesn't have what it takes would have been a good start in honesty.

It's a news pundit though. They generally shout over you, don't really want to discuss facts, just catch you in some traps. He's the same as all the other pundits on radio and tV. She should really debate a republican candiate not a pundit.

If he were running for anything would she take the challenge? Doubtful. Believe what you will.

Most people have a good sense of when they are out of their league physically or mentally against someone.

Few will admit it and come off with some excuse as to why they won't take the challenge..

Most people will accept a challenge if they are confident they can indeed win it. She would get annihilated and knows it and her handlers know it and probably told her AHHH HELL NOOO Not Shapiro.

I never said she should have. Just said I think she could have handled the response better, or lack there of.
