Your Ultimate Fear?

When the first atomic bomb was set off, the greatest fear was that it would ignite the atmosphere and burn off all of our oxygen.

That, of course, didn't happen.

A more recent fear is: Could the Large Hadron Collider make an Earth-killing black hole?

Each generation seems to have an Earth-shattering fear. So what's your Ultimate Fear that would destroy the Earth?

The sun..or solor flare.

As for nukes...we even shot nukes IN the atmosphering phase...We are still here...

Im thinking its gonna go fast...

The rich destroying it all, and blaming it on the rest of us.
Oh, wait- already happened. If anyone needs me, I'll be outside with some popcorn watching the world go to hell.

It will be a virus that destroys the human race.

A killer virus should be everyone's worst fear, everything else pales in comparison.

My ultimate fear? I live amongst a doomed species that currently occupies this planet and one day our skeletal bodies will be displayed in an alien museum or a museum of a more advanced species. To show how dumb and inept we all were and brought about our own demise or set the chain of events to lead us to extinction somehow.

I wish to the heavens I wasn't born in the same galaxy with humanity. So primitive even by today's standards after existing for over 2000 years with little to no improvement mentally or physiologically.

Your Ultimate Fear?

Political or non Political?

I think one of two scenarios:

1) Some fast spreading virus that will kill off most of humanity

2) An EMP/Solar Flare or something that basically shuts down most of the technology.

In both cases, society would quickly devolve into chaos.

Anything that will stop me from being able to breathe. Like yellowstone blowing it's top or poisonous gases becoming so concentrated in the atmosphere that air will no longer be breathable.

Only stupid people were worried about the LHC creating a black hole that would swallow the world.

Very simply my ultimate fear is that gravity fails and I begin to fall upward uncontrollably into the sky.........into outer space with no oxygen! That's why I'm strapped into my chair which is bolted to the concrete slab!

As a kid I was always paranoid we'd run out of gravity and just float upwards into space.

Oh, I see it's not just me.

Strangely during my religious phase (when they called it the "rapture") I suddenly found that quite appealing.
