It is illegal here to serve someone who is drunk. In pubs. Where people go mostly to get pissed. Never could work that one out. I'm sure that law is working out fine, because you never see anyone drunk in a pub, right?

Haha love it!

I used to make up # to my son all the time when he was little. He asked me once what was in Homity pies and I told him Homity's, small furry vicious creatures with long teeth hunted from a colony on Bodmin Moor. He believed that for a couple of years lol

I like to think it's more of a guideline and thankfully our law enforcement views it as #faced rather than drunk!

Hahaha, it's every parents responsibility to fill their kids heads with "tall tales". I look at it as a public service. Think of it this way, in our childhoods we had the likes Spike Milligan and Rent-a-ghost to warp our impressionable little minds. These days, the poor tykes have Peppa Pig and such instead - someone has to fill the surreal and far fetched void!

Haha I've always thought it was a silly law.
You have to actually be falling over in my parts before you get refused service, same in the local shop, they'll serve anyone so long as you aren't knocking stuff off the shelves.

I didn't like Rentaghost. I remember H R Puf'n'Stuff or similar. I think I do, or was I hallucinating it? What the hell was that about?

Then there were those Czech cartoons that were a bit surreal and scary but then I was s#it scared of Babar the Elephant. The Moomins? Bloody hell. Yet we all turned out normal in the end. Mostly.

Oh yea, well guy, that's just the start of it with the crappy cops in the Cities and Suburbs. How any "night life" at all has survived is beyond me.

Here's the real skinny on that. DWI in the States, or at least in Texas is "presumed" after about 8:OO pm. And if you have had a beer with your pizza at the nearest "Sports Bar" (where you can't smoke and the Beer costs $8.00 a mug), and you get pulled over and are stupid enough to ADMIT you had the one beer with your pizza, your going to be forced to take the walk the line test which of course, you'll fail and then get hauled in for the breathalyzer, which, not withstanding your actual BAC is only .01, you score a .10 per the MAGIC OF THE MACHINE! Suffice it to say.......you're cooked! The result of all this crap has been that when I did live in the city, the rule of thumb was to limit your bar drinking time to "day drinking", i.e. between 2pm and 6pm and then to limit your drinking to only maybe 3 beer, although in reality, you can't pass the breathalyzer even if you haven't had anything at all to drink.

And that my man is why we refer to Texas as, (drum roll) "The Incarceration State".

ETA: One evening returning from a ball game, I actually witnessed three different type of cops arguing over who got to bag the DWI offender; and she looked to be about 90!

Its not all bad. We have beautiful scenery and the wife and I have gotten quite used to not watching TV news. So they could put Magilla the Gorilla in the White Hut and we'd never know or care.
