What an interesting thread. Even more so because of the doubting thomas with their strict adherence to science that made quite a show in this thread. I always appreciate those who are willing to display closed mindedness without any type of self reflection.

I don't think our mainstream science will ever be able to explain the spiritual or the soul. I am very thankful for that. When you enter into their realm of 'proof', you step into their mainstream realm of 'science'. They can have it and keep it. What will truly see humankind enter the next stage of development is not through that material sciences, but through the spiritual. The spiritual that will never be proven. And It Will Drive Them Insane. You can already see some of the cognitive dissonance just from the thought experiment started from this thread.

I hope our rudimentary science will never be able to explain the soul.

Some interesting experiments showing spirituality and the soul have already been done by R. Sheldrake through his experiments on telepathy, which I think is simple spiritual contact. Like when pets know their owners are coming home.

I am leaning that the spiritual can't influence the material realm, but other spiritual beings can communicate through this means.

But what I do know is that there are many basic things that happen around us that is real and accepted but no one has an understanding of

Spirit material, something else that may be, but scientists can't quantify because they are ignorant of the field

Yes this is a trick question, you lose either answer so think hard or not

The only thing I don't agree with Sheldrake on is that he never claims any of his proven experiments display attributes of the soul. He tries to explain them at simple projections of the eyes or our sensory systems projecting outwards that give definition to the material world around us, through material means.

He never mentions spirituality or the soul. I wonder how far he would have gotten if he went in that direction? Maybe he knew the resistance beforehand and decided to try and tie this into science for the establishments sake. I wonder if he wanted to scream at the top of his lungs at the deception that was necessary to bring his research to light?

Yes if we cant measure or quantify a thing it generally stands that we tend to ignore the thing.

Once we master or manage to create an AI that learns in an exponential manner it may be able to perceive the universe in ways we can never imagine ourselves.

Obviously, with that subject, there comes a multitude of other associated issues all the same. Our continued existence in our present condition being one of the main contentions.

I don't have the research on hand right now (it's somewhere put away in my boxes of files), but go do some research on 1920's spiritualist science. They had some ideas as to what souls/spirits where made of, especially what allows us to see things like ghosts in a camera, but not with our eyes. It was at the time really interesting schools of thoughts, and maybe some of their research could be rehashed today.

Anyway there is a starting point for you to go look and learn for yourself. I passed on these research papers long ago since they didn't pertain to what I was doing, but they were still interesting enough to keep around for some other project I was planning on but never got around too.
