These colors don't run!

Well, some might be urged to remember that the 4th of July didn't come without cost. Nor has it ever come without cost.

All those fireworks? The Beer? The licked brauts? All the memes?

They all came at a cost. Many, if not most, of you know this, make sure everyone else does, too.






Are we forgetting this? Sometimes I think so.

Enjoy the day, but take a moment.

yes, take a moment, we are not perfect but we have changed alot, we have grown...hopefully into something better.

Lol not sure why people are shooting off fireworks around me. Celebrating what now? Our slavery! Lets salute to that. Stop sugar coating it people.

There's just more to the holiday than some seem to think. There's much to celebrate, as the country is, for the most part, better than it was even 50 years ago.

That's worth remembering, and celebrating. But temper that with remembering the cost.

I can be very depressing when I try.

not to worry, we have grown so much, in many ways. what is tearing us down now is politics, it is dividing the nation, and i cant understand the reason for it at all....not to this level.

...and places like Iwo Jima, Saipan, Inchon...and hundreds, if not thousands, of places that'll never have names outside of nightmares.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July let us all take a moment to think about the flag and what it stands for. What it means to those of us who fought for it and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Freedom is never free.

There are things we all need to remember.

The Declaration and the events surrounding and subsequent to it determined who we are as a nation.

We need to be reminded of that sometimes I think.

Not one changed their mind. These guys knew exactly what they were getting into.

These were not idiots, they were the movers and shakers of Colonial America. Politicians today can only dream of that sort of influence.

I do not celebrate the 4th of July.

In the year 2018 the sacrifice, and BALLS it took to stand up to tyranny no longer exists, and has been reduced to acting like effing zombies from land of the dead, looking at pretty fireworks, and things that go boom in the night.(sometimes for weeks leading up to and weeks after).

Just exactly what are you celebrating?

It hasn't gotten better.

It's gotten worse.
