Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness: Happy 4th of July Y'all!

John Stossel imo does a nice job of conveying the spirit of The 4th of July and, quite appropriately, contrasts some notes and observations in relation to our British cousins.

Coming in at a trim and patriotic 4-mins check it out…and with this, I wish my country and all of its peeps a very Happy & Free 4th of July!

Compare America to Britain, the country we broke away from. There, they sentenced a man to more than a year in jail for making a Facebook live video outside a courthouse.

Getting locked up for something you write on social media is also common; hundreds get arrested for that in Britain every year.

Fortunately, in America, thanks to First Amendment, we can say most anything without being jailed.

We also have a right to bear arms. Not in Britain, which has some of the strictest gun regulations in the world.

Yet those regulations haven’t stopped crime. London's murder rate recently passed New York’s. After knife crime surged, London's mayor Sadiq Khan even called for a crackdown on knives.

One British police agency bragged on twitter about a “weapon sweep” that found scissors and pliers! But don’t worry, those tools have been “taken off the streets."

John Stossel is glad he lives in America, where he can carry pliers and speak freely.

And to our cousins: Stand up lads!! Claim your butter knives back!! Dare to dream of free speech!! Good start with Brexit, though, Yo!!

I would like to take the opportunity to say that I am proud to be American. America has a lot of warts, a lot of flaws.


But as far as countries go (and I've lived in a few) this place still rocks.

Hell yeah.

And Butter knifes.

I’ve only lived in two countries - The U.S.A. & Texas.

And I can say for certain Texas is the greatest country on this here Earth.

We've managed to do a few things right. We might have to again.

Stossel does some pretty good spots on occasion.

No it truly cannot, it feels damn good to be proud of what is happening.

The masses are uniting not dividing, no matter how the TV tries to paint reality.

This really should be self-evident with Trump winning, the MSM paints a certain view that is inconsistent with the reality of the country.

People are uniting across the spectrum because what Trump does that is good for America affects all Americans regardless of the superficial lies of propaganda espoused by corporate media.

With 40,ooo sealed indictments racked up, it is going to be a damn good year!
