Bloody hell, economic migrants are considered asylum seekers by some in the US now?

Yes, they are. ...and, by accounts, it's a successful defense many times.

I draw the line where I quoted you.

That they were 'forced' to enter this country 'illegally.'

If you can prove that to me, you may convince me that I'm on the wrong side of this argument. I doubt that however given the fact the we as humans have free will and that I'm highly doubtful that there are border agents or Mexican agents pushing them across the border.

that's fine. we all make our own choices.

i encourage you to do research as i will continue to do, and hope that we will both make decisions based on realistic findings.

If, and it's a huge if, Mexican agents were/are doing something like that...I wonder if that's casus belli?

That's what they should be doing. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

Britain just does it and most people agree with it. Genuine asylum seeker fleeing oppression etc, yes let them stay and welcome them into our communities, but just here for a cash in hand job, no # off, unlucky if the authorities catch you.
For the record, curiously I wouldn't grass an illegal up to the authorities, I'm a human being the same, breaking laws often, so if they can get away with it then good luck. But if the authorities catch them then I won't be helping them to escape.

EDIT
Another twist to my story is my life tribe have made plans if any of our EU mates look like losing their 'right to remain' after Brexit.
It's unlikely but we've still made plans.
I'll take a tasering in defence of my mates, every time.

You can not seek asylum legally by wading across the Rio Grande.

Unless the law, remember that, has changed, you must cross over an acknowledged border check point. Not just any ol' place will do.

and they are trying to do that, at legit points, and being forced to cross illegally, and having their kids taken away.

that is what is happening.

Who or what is "forcing" them to cross illegally? Cartels, Hunger, Thirst? Perhaps the need for shelter? These are very real, undeniable threats to any person's well being.

That said, breaking the law is breaking the law. If you are starving or dying of thirst, and caught stealing a bottle of water and a sandwich from a corner store, you get arrested. Freezing cold and break into an unoccupied house? Get caught-arrested.

I understand these people and their situation is uncomfortable, possibly dire. But when you make the choice to break a law, you need to be ready to accept the consequences.

we have laws. people can start the process of seeking asylum and that kicks off a legal process.

your personal opinion of whether that's legit doesn't mean dick, in a legal sense.

Yeah start it at the embassy in your country.

Don't wait till you go 2000 miles to the US border.

What you think? People here complain they can't get a #in ID to vote within 15 miles?!

Bite me.

You lefty butts kill me.

Your BS is obvious. Ya care nothing about the "children"

Take the kids and sell them to Isis or amazon.

Come here without an invite, break the law and see what happens.

who the hell would try and immigrate and seek asylum and leave their kids behind?

cmon

Who the hell would march potentially thousands of miles, potentially mostly by foot, with children?

People being given an open invite by half the people where they're going, that's who.

Ergo, I blame ye stereotypical "liberals" -doing the open inviting- for whatever ugly comes from this.

Likewise, the Wars of Drugs that are bombing out Latin America (amongst other places where kids get exploded like watermelons everyday), that wiide open border you insist on is whats driving all that riff raff through their home regions.

Britain is hostile to economic migrants and I support it.
We even have a Juxtaposed border control where UK immigration staff control it in France and Belgium.
I never understand the 'racist' thing about immigration control by US members of ATS.

Simple;
If Trump (or any R) does it, it's racist.
If Obama does it, it never happened.
