Transgenders should only compete against other transgenders.
Hey if you're going to put this on a bathroom door there should definitely be three race divisions!

Perhaps athletic events should lbe based on something like weight class/muscle mass rather than gender?
What would be a fair way to do it to preserve fair athletic contests?

Aside from a quibble about the meaning of gender, what you say forms the basis of my asking if there aren't more fair ways to split people into competive groups than gender.

There is none. We compete based on gender. Men aren't allowed in women's competitions and women typically can't compete with the men. There is no other way to set this up. Nor should we even try.

I agree completely.
So, why shouldn't we base the classes of athletic completion on rational factors ... ranges of muscle mass, bone density even testosterone levels?
There are many sports that have these classes/ divisions ... wouldn't this make all competition more fair?

That's already in place.

Fair for who? No one is kept out or disadvantaged with the way things are.
