Trump should cancel his meeting based on the cancellation with South Korea. Moon has been doing most of the heavy lifting from the get go and this is a direct affront to him.

Damn, he must have lost control of his military if they're doing drills without his consent.

It could be that we're DARING Kim Jong to cancel the meeting. If he does, North Korea will be a 4th-world country in a couple more years. People eating each other for food.

Sounds like a couple of those senior leaders in North Korea may have tied up Kim Jong and thrown him in the cellar. They're too old (and rich) to change.

No harm done. U.S. retrieved 3 hostages, and gave up nothing. Contrast that with how Obama sent $1.5 Billion to Iran in exchange for some hostages.

So turn your logic around.

Everything good that happens you want to say Trump did it.

But when bad happens, no, Trump has nothing to do with it

Obviously you haven't been reading my posts.

I've called out Trump for being a complete asshole plenty of times.

Nice try though.

Joanie? What consolation prize do we have for our contestant?

If some of the reports coming out of North Korea are to be believed, this is sadly already happening in some areas.

As I said I think this is just posturing from Lil'Kim for his people to see that he is still the boss. The North has way more to lose from walking away from these talks than anyone else. Point of fact, if the North does go through with walking away, then Trump has every reason in the world to show the world that he tried and that the North is ran by a crazy person that needs to be removed for the safety on the region.

On the other hand if the North does stay in the talks, then Trump can continue to say that he brought peace to the region. It's a win-win for Trump either way. The only loser is the North. I'm willing to bet one of the topics that trump may have offered the North is discussions about bring up their standings in the region while setting Lil'Kim up for bring prosperity to his people. If that happened Lil'Kim would be more popular and godlike then his Grandfather. If he walks, then he might as well start packing up now.

Tonight (Friday in NK), North Korea leaders are expanding their demands and rhetoric.

As many U.S. officials speculated this evening, the annual military drills aren't what's making North Korea Angry.

Instead, they've analyzed comments made by National Security Advisor JOHN BOLTON this past weekend, and didn't like what they heard.

In media interviews over the weekend, Bolton suggested North Korea could follow a Libyan model of nuclear disarmament, a model many analysts say will have alarmed the North, considering the fate of the Libyan leadership.

Kim Kye-gwan said in his statement that this was "not an expression of intention to address the issue through dialogue".

"It is essentially a manifestation of awfully sinister moves to impose on our dignified state the destiny of Libya or Iraq which had been collapsed due to yielding the whole of their countries to big powers.

"We do not hide our feeling of repugnance towards [Bolton]."

So, the bottom line is that North Korea fears the U.S. wants to force leadership change?

yet they think that walking away from a peace talk will only strengthen the notation of regime change. If the US is willing to have the peace talk, then the world can't say that trump isn't willing to open talks. On the other hand the North has more to gain from these talks, and as of the time of me writing this, the Trump Administration is still playing on being at the talks so this fist shaking by the North is more than likely just that. Fist shaking.

So we have evidence Trump is going to continue doing the right thing and not cave to NK and make NK come around, and all I see is the Trump haters foaming at the mouth.

Here's a hint for all you Trump haters, this was a planned JOINT operation with SK, you know, SK, the nation that is right next to NK. If SK wanted to keep drilling who do you people think you are to tell SK no when it's their lives on the line.

Makes sense doest it? Bolton has consistently said he wont settle for any less than regime change the last 18 years. His recent re-appointment was a direct afront to the talks.

And Bolton has been correct all along.

There is no way the Kim family can remain in power. It's simply not possible. IF and when the doors to NK open to the south the Kim family will have no choice but to flee to exile (if anyone will even take them). They are only viable as political leadership as long as they can reign with an iron fist. That iron fist mentality can only exist in the vacuum of North Korea as it exists now. When the people see the outside world they have been prohibited from seeing or knowing about, under decades old threats of execution or enslavement of generations, the NK leadership will become public enemy number 1.

True but in reality they're never going to give it up and peace talks aren't going to happen if their negotiating their own imprisonment/death.

Everything he's been involved has been a failure. Even neo-cons have called him 'the last man on Earth who should be a diplomat' since 1994 and he was worse under Bush. The guys a complete psychopath only interested in war and until he's removed there's little chance of any agreements being reached, it made no sense to bring him in as the fallout is so obvious.

Oh absolutely, I totally agree! They will need to be given an exit plan at some point (and I would think even Jong Un is smart enough to realize this). That exit plan will be exile to somewhere in China most likely (if the Chinese will agree to it). It's that or the ME. Otherwise they will never sign up for anything because that is exactly what they would be doing. In any case, it will have to be someplace where they can't be extradited and tried for genocide and crimes against humanity.

And for my part, I think I'd probably even be willing to let the this little monster and his family go (into exile) if the World could put a check mark in the box called "Neutralize NK and free the North".

Then we could stand down the DMZ (eventually) and figure out where to go from there.
