Our border laws haven't been enforced since Reagan. In the 80's republican demigod Reagan granted millions of illegals amnesty. Our borders have been a joke ever since.

The US meddling in those "other countries" caused them to be destroyed, leaving them with no chance but to look for hope somewhere else.
That's about it.
Also, feel good about being "at the top" and look away when children are killed in # hole countries just so that you can keep you life style. If you don't see it on the news or serves a purpose to the US it doesn't matter? Look at Yemen and the hypocrisy. How nasty and rotten, whatever

That isn't the citizen's fault. We have never had any say on who our governments declare war on. Ever...
You have plenty of say, by electing people with sane foreign policy.

n another rejection of established immigration policy, the Department of Homeland Security said Monday that it would be ending a humanitarian program that has allowed some 200,000 Salvadorans to live and work legally in the United States for more than a decade, after fleeing earthquakes that devastated their country in 2001. They now have until September 9, 2019, to leave the United States or remain illegally.
The announcement is the latest in a series of moves by President Donald Trump to expel non-native residents. In November, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Elaine Duke stripped 60,000 Haitians of their protected status, declaring Haiti had sufficiently recovered from a 2010 earthquake that killed thousands, displaced more than a million, and sparked an outbreak of cholera. Some 5,300 Nicaraguans lost their protections this month. Tens of thousands of Hondurans are expected to be next. Including the approximately 700,000 people protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, the Trump administration will have put nearly 1 million people at risk of deportation.
The Secretary may designate a country for TPS due to the following temporary conditions in the country:
Ongoing armed conflict (such as civil war)
An environmental disaster (such as earthquake or hurricane), or an epidemic
Other extraordinary and temporary conditions
...
TPS is a temporary benefit that does not lead to lawful permanent resident status or give any other immigration status. However, registration for TPS does not prevent you from:
Applying for nonimmigrant status
Filing for adjustment of status based on an immigrant petition
Applying for any other immigration benefit or protection for which you may be eligible
