I doubt he'll go to prison.

He'll launch himself into space and be the first interstellar fugitive!

Witch hunt?

The timing is strange after the recent achievements of SpaceX.

What tech has musk developed in the tesla line?
As far as I know he just assembled a car with existing tech and tries to sell it as groundbreaking.
I say tries because their sales are not meeting his projections.

No, that is a legitimate accusation. Executives selling off shares prior to any announcement of which they are privy to which could impact share pricing and the public isn't is potentially insider trading.

Didn't he launch a spaceship? Or did I imagine that?

You mean those things nasa has been launching since the 50's?
What new tech has musk developed?

Two of the thrusters landed back on earth in a controlled manner. Have you seen that before? I haven't...

Oh boo hoo. A man actually trying to bring innovation and technological progression to America and the world and people worried about their invrstments. This right here is why capitalism does not work in a advanced society. And why American will never be great again. Yup jail the guy who has made more progress in space exploration in the last 50 years than NASA.
So why doesn't the government bail him out or buy out the shareholders like they did with the auto makers?

I can make a few guesses...

So he can potentially defraud people but it's all good because it's in the name of progress.

Swap TSLA with XOM using the same rationale and watch people's heads explode.

Whilst i agree with your sentiment, his firm is providing much much cheaper satellite launches for US industry and, more importantly, the military. As such, I really don't expect this law suit to go anywhere, which is certainly not the same as saying it shouldn't go anywhere!

It will certainly proceed, the government is not involved, these are two private entities as parties. Hell, the SEC is investigating him too and if the government wanted to sweep it away they wouldn't have begun an investigation.

So a multimillionaire CEO shouldn't have to follow the rule of law?
Or is it just ones with their hearts in the right place?

Wow...

Your double standards are horrific and you should be ashamed of yourself. This is literally nothing. People in all the big firms all over the world do fifteen things before breakfast that make this situation look as innocent as popping out for a pint of milk for your cornflakes, and nary a word spoken, an eye batted. This guy tries to add solar firms to his portfolio, something the oil companies and energy companies refuse to do on a proper, industrial scale, and you want HIM over the coals, not the ones raping the Earth, and extorting money from your people, to pay for their heating, lighting, power and vehicle fuel?

Your bias is hanging out. Do your fly up.

You asked if I ever saw it before.
Yes I have.
20 years before musk.
With 20 year old computers.

Yeah no, the shareholders (IF together they have controlling interest) can hold a shareholders meeting and oust him as CEO, that's about all that can be done.

He can't go to jail.

Yeah, that is a serious criminal matter if it turns out to be true.
