It's not a bad thing to have a price point, but the problem comes in when you have things like insurance and government pay schemes to distort that theory. Both those mechanisms have far deeper pockets than any single purchaser ever could, so if you're profit motivated and those purchasers never say no, you go for it.

You see the same thing happening with university education. Government guarantees everyone can go and has endlessly deep pockets, so there is no motivation for the unis to hold their tuition down into the realm of the average person. Tuition skyrockets.

When government (or insurance ... or similar market forces) makes things "affordable," whatever it is rapidly becomes unaffordable without that mechanism's intervention on your behalf.

I have no idea man. I live and have lived in Alberta my whole life. Something about what PE said has got my hackles up. I'm almost positive that I know something or saw something when I was a teenager and my brain is actively suppressing my memories.

I have no idea other than a burning need to know. I don't particularly want to dive into that rabbit hole, but I think that I have to. I hope that PE will give me a morsel to follow because coming up empty handed is really starting to aggravate me.

Alternatively, any new drug approval by FDA is subject to the drug company taking ownership of a hospital that deals with the disease.

They make more money if drug works and less if it doesn't!

Sorry to tell you this but it's in fact world wide. Going by recent events than Q is already in the process of shutting them down for good. However the ultimate confrmation you seek has to do with CA and PA.

I know it's a huge issue to take on because there are so many moving parts.

For these bankers to come out and openly admit cures are an issue and further less spread of disease is an issue for their profits it's just gone too far.

I don't pretend to have the solution, I hope tptb right now do, or at least the right direction to start in!
