VPN into CA from China, and I've had this problem for the same lengths of time mentioned by others.

Didn't notice it in 2016 when I was a lurker using same platform and location.

Same for me .. unusable most of the time.
The whole place is doomed any how.. and wont be around much longer..
The political infestation has seen to that...

I did a bit of an experiment here by using a 'secure' browser that effectively blocks adds.
The result, for me at least, is that pages now load quickly again like they did some time back so I'll be using that browser even if it does mean I lose some functionality like access to my uploaded images.

Less intrusive adds would also be beneficial ??
