Kremlin launches new disinformation agency

Russian news agency RIA-FAN has announced the creation of a new "news agency" specifically tailored for the American conspiracy theory market. It's called:



Wake up America! is its slogan. Pretty slick. Its creation was announced in English, here:

Here is the announcement:

Moscow, April 4th. Due to the growing political censorship imposed by the United States, there remains less and less of information sources that are not under control of the US authorities.

In this regard, US citizens cannot receive objective and independent information about events occurring on the territory of America and throughout the world. The information flow coming from the US and its allies, which is aimed at discrediting the Russian Federation, should not remain unanswered by the Russian media.

The Federal News Agency (FAN) is not going to put up with the hegemony of the US authorities in the information field and announces the launch of the project "Wake up, America!".

In May 2018, the information agency "USA Really. Wake Up Americans" will start its operations, it will focus on promoting information and problems that are hushed up by major American publications controlled by the US political elite.

So if you are tired of getting your "fake news" from InfoWars, globalresearch.ca, and beforeitsnews.com, you will now have a new source to feed your confirmation bias.

ETA: Note this has been created by the Federal News Agency. It is therefore undisguised government propaganda.

Just a rebranding of, or a spin-off from the Sputnik news service. That's all this is.

Unlike the US, with 'Mockingbird', the Kremlin is up front about their plan.

They are openly targeting us.
Our own government targets us.... but is not open about it .

One thing in common.... American citizens are the targets.

Which one should I be more disgusted by, the one that hides it... or the one that doesn't?

Not exactly. Sputnik and Tass need to maintain a certain level of journalistic credibility. This new organization does not. It is explicitly intended to rile its target market up. It's market? Look at the logo and slogan. Trump supporters. As the Kremlin engineers the "Blue Wave" they will need an outlet to feed the Trump supporters rage in the face of continuing criminal indictments and probable impeachment hearings. That is where "USA Really" comes in. They will provide a conspiratorial counter-point to the undoing of the Trump administration. Remember, the Kremlin's goal is not to have a puppet in the White House, it is to paralyze America with domestic political issues.
