I don’t think Trump would tell Russia if this was serious now I think about it.

What I think has happened is the US has come to an agreement with Russia behind closed doors. US targets have been passed to Russia in full knowledge that they will in turn tell Syria, who can mitigate the damage caused.

This allows Trump to satisfy appearances for warmongers in Europe like Macron as well as establishment pro-regime change advocates back home. Putin can justify Russia’s continued (and fully legal) military presence in Syria as well as providing Syria with higher quality armaments to “replace losses”

Still angry about it though. The West should stop interfering in Middle East issues. It should most certainly stop backing the demonstrably wrong side in civil wars.

There are, surprisingly, other methods for the President to talk with Russia other than Twitter, even in this day of social media. You know.. like the last time we launched missiles into Syria... and they did that really old fashioned thing and called them on a telephone to warn them ahead of time.

The reason Trump does Twitter is not because it is some clever "4D Chess" ploy. He likes bragging, and making sure everyone knows how amazing he is, and how amazing it is that he can launch missiles at a country.

Have you not thought about the fact it lets every citizen in the world who can access Twitter know that if Russia claims we hit their troops, it was not on purpose? Keeping voters in the know is a win in my book. Don’t forget Trump has Mad dog Mattis at the helm of the military. If you doubt Trumps ability, have faith in Mattis.
