London has always had gang trouble we should build a wall around it tbh

I know a lot of ex-Londoners who will never go back.

There are plenty of reasons to carry a knife, one of which is to defend oneself from violent criminals who would rather stab you than listen to the authoritarian remarks of mayors and officials.

I met a former Met cop the other day who had transferred to these parts. He said the competition for the vacancy was fierce because being a cop in Devon and Cornwall constabulary is way safer and easier than in London. I totally understood.

Haha yes! Plod here are only recruiting volunteer cops, no money in the budget. Largest police area in England but funding based on winter population. Massively under resourced compared to London, but nicer environment so people behave different.

The coastal resorts can be pretty rough though.

Haha only in the summer when the tourists arrive!
Give me anywhere in Devon & Cornwall over anywhere inside the M25 anyday!

Consider the M25 as the wall.

Yes!
...and for non UK members, the M25 is motorway 25 which circles greater London...build that wall...build that wall...

Tactical assault badgers have been a thing in these parts for like ever mate, get with the times!
They run the catnip racket curiously, but will do a hit job with their machine claws for the right price...PM me if you need one.

Tell me about it. I am trusted in my day job to carry a rifle with hundreds of rounds, a pistol with spare ammo, HE & phos grenades, a couple of mortar bombs and maybe some spare MG/grenade launcher rounds. As for blades I will usually have a bayonet, leatherman and an Esse 4 knife on my belt, and a khukri if I'm in the jungle. I have authorised strikes with thousands of pounds of air dropped munitions, mortars and artillary. Yet off duty I would get nicked if I had a 2" lock knife in my car without "good reason."

It's a funny old world.

Sounds lame, nothing you mentioned had tactical or assault pronouns.

EDIT
...and wtf is your job?! I've only ever fired SA80's (as a job)...and Lee Enfield 303's when I was a kid.

Respect to you Sir, I've only ever been a rating...nothing more dangerous in a health n safety context than a matelot with an SA80.

I'll bet he is surrounded by armed guards. P.O.S. like most politicians they are only interested in their own protection. Ain't gonna happen in the U.S. without civil unrest. I think that is what they are hoping for so they can take out the civilian population this way their criminal activity can continue unchallenged.

They are also spending public monies on "anti-knife violence education". As though the sort of people that enjoy stabbing people are going to be educated out of it by public speakers and conferences.

Also, to ensure your safety, they'll be expanding search and frisk of people "they believe " may be stabby. No worries there.

Spot on RR

Ridiculous to believe anyone that would engage in a violent crime is going to attend such a rally. Apparently these folks don't understand violent criminals very well. Must believe the Hollywood portrayal, that they lead normal lives like you and I. As opposed to the bottom feeding victimizing life of violence they live.

The shame of it is that a huge portion of UK Citizens are level headed and reasonable individuals. Their intelligence is insulted though by radical laws that prevent them from protecting their lives outside their home!

Criminals know they can keep *certain* firearms at home, so they simply target them when they're out and about. And you don't even have the safety of your home, since as far as you know the criminal breaks in while you're away, grabs your firearm from your poor quality gun safe and uses it or their own illegal gun/knife to victimize you. All the while leaving the victim helpless because they followed such a ridiculous and dangerous law. A law that criminals will of course casually ignore. They don't think the way you and I think. To them, "strapping up" for a gangland running gun fight is just a part of their daily life.

Good thing Trump, Brexit & other events has showed us this radical socialist insurgency has more than worn out its welcome in the EU and US.

As someone else said, their current government is a poster-child for our Second Amendment. Much like Nancy Pelosi and Hillary are boons to the GOP.

What really offends me is all the pc rubbish meaning these little thugs cant be properly targeted. If someone looks like they might be a scrote, I think the cops should be allowed to pull them and search them. no matter what colour their skin is.
But, thanks to all these special interest groups moaning about racial profiling, a fifty year old man like me isn't allowed to wander around with a victorinox in his pocket without "good reason" My good reason is I may need to cut something or undo a screw or take the cork out of a wine bottle, but that isn't good enough because the police will not harass the sort of people for whom a knife is just a weapon.
