PrairieShepherd
Once upon a Prairie, far far away... there lived a lonely shepherd, tending his flock (which is NOT a euphemism for something naughty!).
The sheep were doing their sheepy things as sheep often do, when there came lightly on the breeze... the unmistakable aromas of Freshly brewed Coffee
and Freshly made Doughnuts!
Now, the poor shepherd had been on the Prairie for many's a long day without the comforts of home, never mind having properly brewed Joe and
melt-in-the-mouth sweet delicacies such as those whose scents wafted over the sheep-camp on this fine evening and it was widely known that he had a
lifelong passion for
sheep coffee and doughnuts, so at length he decided to seek out the source of the saintly smells...
He took note of the direction of the breeze, it's speed & variance, the girth of the nearest ewe's waist, how grumbly his tummy was, and most
importantly.... how far away the sheep-lingerie emporium was, then he set off at pace in the direction of the delicious source of the tormenting
aromatics.
His journey took him down off the prairie into a gulch, along an old dried up river-bed and around a huge butte before he saw before him the Biggest
Doughnut Stand in THE WORLD! shimmering in the late evening heat.
His mouth watered as he imagined tasting the rich-roast flavours mingling with the sugar-coated delight of the tasty pastries... his pace quickened to
a jog and then, finally he broke into a full-on run!
When he neared the huge doughnut stand, he suddenly noticed that it had been painted quite crudely onto a large canvas, and that the coffee & donut
smells were actually coming from a tiny box with "Smellinator 2000" printed on the side!
It was only then that he heard the howls and snarls of the Wily Wolves, and the panicked bleating of his poor flock away in the distance...
Who knew that his lifelong passion would be his undoing or that the wolves on his prairie had been paying attention through the open windows of the
Prairie Community College when they ran those Art classes last month....
