There would be a philosophy of bigfoot, if ET, that if you are going to openly visit this planet, you better be the biggest and baddest creature, able to take on any predator this world has to offer.

I have hunted and fished over the mid-atlantic states, in Minnesota, and Montana. I have hiked in Canada. At one point or another i have seen just about every animal. Or killed and eaten them.
But I never saw any sign of a big monkey in North america. Nothing even close.
I love the idea of a cousin of humans living out there. Just never saw any sign.
Am I looking in the wrong spots?
Thanks.

If you have been to Montana, try the Clark Fork river area by Noxon, in the mountains on the east of the river.
People that have lived there a long time just call them monkeys. They bring them up in normal conversation. It's surreal.
"Hey Dave... seen the monkeys over on your back fenceline again."
"The two big ones?"
"No, the female with the kid."
"Oh! I haven't seen her in a while!"
I would have to go with the extra-dimensional idea as well, if they are indeed out there.

Perhaps they have entrances to the underground within the woods, and that's where they reside. The woods may be significant to them, but not how we assume. [...] Just a theory.
Maybe. The thing is, if they live somewhere relatively permanent like in a cave or grotto of some kind, then there would be trails and marks made by their frequent travels to and from this spot. There would also be a lot of garbage accumulate in the area (including massive piles of Bigfoot crap). Seems like that would be relatively easy to spot if there are at least enough of them to have a breeding population.
Otherwise, they vanish into other dimensions or UFOs, and any hope of tracking them like a normal animal or person is just not possible.

I personally believe Bigfoot is of the Human 'race', hence why any DNA tested on them comes back 'human". Just no one anywhere in authority wants to admit or make a connection to a secondary Human type living on earth. It gets hinted at a lot, like that whole brouhaha that happened a few years back that was 'debunked'. Well if it was human DNA, just hairy human DNA, it wasn't really debunked was it? It would also explain why they are smart enough to make damn sure we don't find them.
AndOr they could be extra dimensional.

Well THAT'S pretty cool. Have any researchers ever set up camp there? Or the folks that live there? Set up a motion sensor camera or something? Seems like researchers should focus on that area.

There is a bigfoot society from Hotsprings that pokes around out there, but it is also the place where scary Vets live in shanties and the militia of Montana is there.
Funny story.. a friend read about a bigfoot meetup in Hotsprings so he went there dressed as a bigfoot... he thought it was a theme party.
It did NOT go over well... LOL

Well we know where to find them. I wouldn't try shooting them with anything smaller then a 50 Mag
Ummm...so my 45/70 government is a no go...?
Day um...they are tougher than a Grizzly....
Better think twice, or be a real good shot, with a lot of bullits , and shoot fast. Grandpa was offered to go be taken to the spot, He wanted to take the 500 Mag. They said no guns. They can smell them. He said no thanks. He wanted to vacloc the 50 caliber gun with a wrinkle by the trigger. He could get killed and people would think he just fell off the mountain side. There is nothing funny here. Grandpa is a steel worker. He is strong. He wont face that thing unarmed/. He said our 357 might not stop that thing, and we don't know what it really is. He said we leave it alone

Interesting. So we're these two guys part of the same encounter? Or are you talking about two different people with two separate encounters?
If the latter, were the encounters in the same area?
