Research is hard. Understanding may break their paradigms. Better to join the mob of social media and feel better about oneself.

I believe these kids are doing this out of legitimate fear they have, and who can blame them with what they've been through. I believe they are doing what they think is right to improve their lives and the lives of other students, im not a lot older than they are but I am very proud of what they are doing. They arent calling for a revolution, they are calling for democracy and people to vote for what they believe.

I do though, think their messaged is being hijacked, by both sides who want to spin it to their narratives. I cant remember any students, or atleast the prominent ones behind this march calling for total gun control. I heard one explain 5 key points that they would like to see a couple days ago and it sounded relatively reasonable.

Punishing law abiding citizens? People who shoot up schools are not law abiding citizens. why do you feel so threatened by these teens?

Gee I dont know. Maybe because law makers usually wind up making laws restricting the citizens versus going after the criminals the ignore the law anyway.

These teens dont know why they are protesting other than the perception that some firearms need to be restricted.

These are young adults not children and they did this themselves. Those students organized this whole thing. They were supplemented in getting permits and the talent that performed for free but they did this themselves for the most part. So I'd take them seriously if I was a congressman because those who are not old enough to vote have parents and guardians who are. And they mean business.

"I support the right of the educated to protest."

And who's going to decide who's educated?

You?

Age does have something to do with knowledge and understanding. You don't let kids make decisions for a country for a good reason.

Older people tend to forget that the youth of today are going to be the leaders or tomorrow.
What they are living in, what a lot of kids had seen and lived through will not be forgotten. The future of gun laws will be much different in the future.

Maybe that was the plan.

We adults that have a problem with it mean business too and we wont go down without a fight if it comes to that.

I will not sit silently and let my rights be decided by an army of KIDS that dont even pay taxes let alone contribute to society other than protesting on a weekend.

so you're not the big bad grownup who knows best here. you're just a guy with an opinion.

know your place in the universe.

They are the future voters. You obviously have not been listening. These kids are smart and articulate and they have a strong message. It's their own voices and their own experiences. They have stared down the barrel of a rifle meant to take their lives away while taking a calculus test. Jesus give them some credit.

How many actually saw anything at all of the shooting?

How do you know these that are doing most of the speaking are not out for attention or working to please someone who is controlling things? We know that step one almost always leads to two and so on. The public has not gone along with the agenda to take the guns and leave Americans as helpless against a possible rising dictator as so many other countries. How do people lose their rights and end up in a North Korea???

So where were all these concerned children the past 8 Obama years? They never staged mass protests then and some might think this is just Kabuki Theater to force people to vote for the Democrats. I'm sure it's just pure coincidence that this march is organized by the same people who did the womens march. Using children to further the anti-gun agenda is the lowest of lows. I have the utmost respect for every student that refused to participate in this.

They're not listening. They can't be and still think these people are advocating taking guns away. They are not. They are advocating tougher gun laws.
They are afraid because they see the power of humans joining together.
They don't know that most people in this country feel this way.

Isn't it FASCINATING... when we see a tragic headline about a COP who, for whatever reason, uses excessive force and kills a citizen... IT IS THE COPS FAULT. (...and it IS )

When it's a CITIZEN... it magically becomes the GUNS FAULT.

What does this tell us? The "more gun control left" are authority worshippers. Isn't it ironic?

They claim Trump = Hitler... AND want to further restrict the rights of CITIZENS to own modern guns... and promote leaving the right to own defensive weapons in the hands of The State... (who they say "Trump = Hitler" )

These young people need to recognize that our 2A is not the cause. Guard your 2A like treasure.

Americans once had the right to own slaves.

Then common sense prevailed and that right was taken away. The same will eventually happen with the right to own arms.

It may take awhile, but it will happen.

There will be bloodshed before that happens

Wow.
Good thing we don't have to change every mind. Just enough to make a difference.
There are still people who want the black man in chains no doubt.

You would be wrong about that... "they" are the same, essentially, as THESE people... just not as far down the path:

www.kgw.com...

Keep in mind... there's no such thing as "assault rifles" in civilian hands. Modern built select fire rifles aren't available for civilian usage... and have not been for decades.

I'm so proud of these kids and their activism.

Maybe there is a coming generation who actually can make America great again, by holding politicians accountable, and can get the NRA OUT of our government.

So you believe it was once great? Lost that greatness? Well, the right to bear arms was there from the beginning. There was a good reason and still is. It looks to me like the NRA was not even a big deal until they had to start fighting to keep their rights.

The right to keep and bear arms is a vital element of the liberal order that our Founders handed down to us. They understood that those who hold political power will almost always strive to reduce the freedom of those they rule and that many of the ruled will always be tempted to trade their liberty for empty promises of security. The causes of these political phenomena are sown in the nature of man.

The U.S. Constitution, including the Second Amendment, is a device designed to frustrate the domineering tendencies of the politically ambitious. The Second Amendment also plays an important role in fostering the kind of civic virtue that resists the cowardly urge to trade liberty for an illusion of safety. Armed citizens take responsibility for their own security, thereby exhibiting and cultivating the self-reliance and vigorous spirit that are ultimately indispensable for genuine self-government.

www.heritage.org...

This is common it is not about guns it is about abused and ill people.

In 1987, Florida became the first jurisdiction with large urban population centers to enact a statute permitting almost all law-abiding adults to obtain a concealed-carry license. Notwithstanding near-hysterical prophecies from many police chiefs and other putative experts, violent crime went down instead of up, and license holders almost never misused their weapons

sure, and i'm entitled to tell you when your opinion is incorrect, as when you try to paint this as kids vs. adults.

your appeal to (your own) authority is mistaken. you're welcome.
