I thought the right was big on this being a mental health problem? So what are the solutions to the mental health problem? Where is the plan? Where is the bill? This has been a problem for many years -- yet nothing.

At least the left is trying to do SOMETHING.

Ha! Right?

I mean...my driveway must be paved....right?

I mean, everyone must live in a urban or suburban area, with pavement and well manicured lawns....I mean no one lives in the woods anymore, this is the 21st century!

Everyone must live in those well lit street field cities!

I mean everyone loves living in those concrete filled cities.....right?

Who in the world would want to live out there in that yucky country place??

semi-automatics are NOT protected by the 2nd.

Well then neither are smart phones, tablets, computers, and the internets.

Back to smoke signals and pencils and papers!

Written in 1968 and rewritten again in 1993.

Gun Control Act o f 1968, and the Brady handgun Prevention of of 1993.

Reading is fundaMENTAL.

Bad legislation is worse than no legislation.

Being seen to "do something" is purely a political action with zero value other than provide a false sense of security. As witnessed in this recent shooting here those entrusted with the protection of those students failed to do that job.

No, smart guy. How do we treat the mentally ill so they aren't such a big problem? What do we do with them? How can we help them so they don't lose it so badly and cause so much pain and loss?

Taking stuff away from the sane people that actually obey the laws is one surefire way not to do it.

Unless you want to put a thought cop in every single persons home( Way the hell past Orwell).

Whining about people breaking the law is an exercise in futility.

Because Karazee people don't give one eff.

So how do we fix that? Pointing fingers doesn't solve the problem. What is the solution? What about someone that we didn't get all the warnings on?

So, no real solution. Just "no".

You want to blame something blame that piece of paper.

The usual suspects keep ignoring the hell out of.

What the EFF ever happened to liberals that use to go around defending civil liberty?

Now yall are just too happy to push totalitarianism on everyone.

House Democrats are welcome to take that bill, roll it into a tight cilynder, and shove it up their collective asses. This is beyond ridiculous. The United States must not devolve into a group of fearful children willing to give away Rights to maintain the illusion of security.

semi-automatics are NOT protected by the 2nd. the gun or "arms" can be determined by whatever the government wants it to be.....if they determine that "arms" can ONLY be a 6-shot pump shotgun, and a 6-shot revolver....that's it

Is a semi-automatic weapon a class of firearm?
If the answer is yes, then it IS covered in that sentence of the 2nd Amendment. Redefining words seems to be the way the left likes to get around the laws.

How about actually enforcing the laws on the books as a start?

Wanting to help those with mental issues that could be a danger to themselves and society is a great thing.

It's a good thing.

So I could ask the same question: Why isn't the Left doing something to help them?

Left....Right.....doesn't mater.

What does mater is taking away our rights is not the way to help them.

As has been pointed out over and over again: The actions of a few should not be the basis of judging society.

Not every muslim is a religious fanatic hell bent of killing innocents with a bomb.

By the same token, not every gun owner is a mass murdering shooter.

In trying to remove the 2nd amendment, or seriously hurt it with these laws......is exactly the same thing as going after someone's freedom of religion.

Should we have the government regulate religion because some are so fanatically with theirs that they'll kill hundreds to thousands over it?

Before anyone says: That's not the same thing! -----the answer is: YES IT IS.

Read the Bill of Rights.

If you don't like what the Dems have come up with, come up with something better.

Keep repeating it doesn't make it true.

Maybe the Right read existing laws.

Like the law that say going around shooting someone else is illegal.

Or they've read the Gun Free Zone of 1990.

Or they've read Floridas 10-20-Life law signed by Jeb.

Or they've read the Gun Control Act of 1968 when Johnson basically said it takes care of crazy people.

Or the Brady Handgun Prevention Act where Bill Clinton echoed the sentiment.

Anyone saying we need to do something.

Hasn't read one single law that we've already got.

And that's a FACT.

Actually hold those accountable for NOT doing their jobs. Case in point these recent deputies, and, their dear leader, the sheriff. Who, by the way, went on national television and blamed others for the incompetence of his own department. Also, he didn't take responsibility as a leader for that incompetence.

How about the FBI as well??? Same applies to them.
