But that's simply illegal/criminal behavior, not corruption. After all, the vast majority of things done by politicians, lobbyists, donors, and normal employees in DC are perfectly legal or can be made legal with the stroke of a pen by other politicians. And ironically, by going after the entire Dept of Justice, you'd be pushing mass arrests against the very people who'd you need to prosecute any actual lawbreaking at the federal level.

I think "corruption" would be 2 & 4 on my list, which is why I asked. If I'm a President and I pardon one of the country's biggest criminals in exchange for donations (who's still on the run at the time of the pardon), wouldn't that count as corruption? Pres Clinton did that exact thing after years of pleas and contributions from the wife of the largest financial criminal in US history at the time, Marc Rich. But it was perfectly legal. To me, that's corruption even though the people who do things of that nature would get away free in your example. Another example to me would be lying our way into invading otherwise innocent countries, even though that appears to be perfectly legal too.

I addressed this in the OP. The reason you're going after DOJ corruption is because you can't trust them to take out their corrupt counterparts. The purge has to start at the DOJ.

The guard against the type of corruption you reference is voters. Don't vote for people like the clinton's who enrich themselves by selling their office or powers. Yet people turned out in droves to vote for that corruption. Don't vote for people who want unjustifiable wars.

When you can break the law to achieve your corrupt means and there are no consequences, it's basically game over for the country. That's why I'm focusing on the criminal corruption.

Corruption and greed have been going on for longer than most of us have been alive in every government. Not just America. If Donald Trump tries to empty the swamp and gets too deep, they will kill him for trying.

Unfortunately corruption is a part of getting to the top. You become untouchable. You do something unethical but is very small and you get away with it. Eventually that small injustice becomes something so big that it spreads like a virus.

My government in England is the same. We have had some very unsettling stories of pedophilia going back generations. Including those at the highest point of government.

Is there a way to fix America? Unfortunatly curruption and greed have got too deep to make a change. You can arrest and accuse people, but ultimately nothing much will change.

You cannot just fire people because "you think". I am not American, so am merely making observations.

It seems to me the problem with politics is the strength of the lobbyists, and the acceptance that they can "buy" influence. The only way you can change that is to stop the "cost" of politics. The only way Trump was able to get in was because he was very, very rich. What chance for a normal person?

You may think lobbyists are corrupt - and they are when compared to the way things work in the UK - but they are not illegal in the US. You change the power of the lobbyists by exposing and fighting to change, rather than chucking a bunch of people in prison for doing things that are accepted.

Although I agree whole heartedly with you sentiment... I question some of your suggestions. Just because the Democrats ignored, abused, and manipulated our laws and institutions for the goal of staying in power, I don't think by doing the same we maintain a higher plateau. We need to follow the rule of law and this is going to take some time.... but I am confident we will achieve the end-goal, full disclosure and making the guilty accountable for their crimes. Mass arrests without justification makes us one of them IMO.

Perhaps the RINO's and Dem's both protesting and calling him names mean he is one of them, secretly. Granted RINO's play act at being conservative then after winning the election go back to being leftist. DJT more like appears to me to be a MAVERICK.

so our entire government is corrupt...that's been a motto here on ATS, for years..... and the corruption is MOSTLY left wing, it's always about politicians trying to bring us together rather pull us apart, THEY are the ones...I think some of you actually need to take a trip to Washington and talk to government employee's and if possible, congressmen. most of them are trying to help run this country, and NOT destroy it. our government has checks and balances to thwart tyranny, not enhance it

isn't it odd to you, that bad governments and repressive leaders, like those mentioned above, ARE NOT the subjects of posts.....it's only against modern western democratic republics...doesn't that give you a clue as to who might want to take America down?

I think if you follow the money hole we are in and digging you will see the plan. The plan all along was bankrupt the USA and give the money away to barbaric people who hate other peoples freedoms. Funding wars on purpose. By taking our assets and corrupting our morals they can cripple our ability to stop world leaders from tyranny. We could think of it as the return for their investment of our money.


We can't be beat on a battlefield when the chips are down. In a way we are like Sampson and therefore our enemies are sending us Delilah. Our System empowers it's citizens and thus empowers our military so they go after the citizens.
