All those yahoos over there need to take the gloves off and have at it. Maybe the planet can move on after they're done blowing each other up. We as a country (U.S.) need to start bringing our troops home and let others take care of their own problems, we have enough of our own over here.

Too right I got the feeling the Ruskies done this as a cash back response to the US killing some of their men and proxies in the raid on eastern Syria the other day. Russian missile has the ability to take out Israeli planes, nobody else in region has hence this first shoot down since 1976.

To be frank about it my view is this is a massive mouse trap to coax Tehran in to Syria then Israel can 'defend' itself as being seen right now.................. Draw the Iranians in then USA can up the tempo and take out Iran using its increasing assets being deployed within Syria and elsewhere. USA, Suadi, Israel have one very big game being played with Iran and as far as I'm concerned everything is about this since 2001 they are the last of the Axis of Evil to be taken out along with Korea but they are a regional threat, can be coaxed around, Iran isfar more of a threat as they are an ideological threat to Sunni and western values and weare watching the Iranians being delivered into the trap with all this cheese around the region. Iran's time is coming and right or wrong they have been played into the trap. Israeli attacks and slap slap slap are getting the required response from Iran and then we will see the media turn on the threat and USA gets 'dragged' into this attrition against Iranian, Syrian and their proxies. For the general Iranian person in the street how sad. It's all about Iran

You don't get it at all.

Iran has been setting up bases in Syria and bringing in weapons for quite some time now. Recently they've started sending UAVs towards Israel. They are not doing it just for fun and giggles. Israely air strikes are an attempt to counter this military build up to prevent a large scale conflict.

Israel has hit 12 Iranian and Syrian targets right now. Totally agree they are taking out the threat / build up but the Israeli's really are escalating things. Israel is one step from all out offensive war against Syrian Lebanese fronts. All needed is a Hezbollah missile barrage against northern Israel and it's game on............. Let's see if Tehran orders this lol

Iran has a strong and capable military I doubt the US would want to get into a shooting match with them , like any bully they only pick on the weak.
As for the Israeli jet being shot down they may have been Russian munitions but I doubt it was Russia that targeted the plane, Israel stuck its nose in and got it poked for a change , glad the crew survived but Israel should stay out of Syria there are too many players there already.

It depends what the Iranians were doing in the area, because they were probably not tourists. Iran are not innocent bystanders in their efforts to perpetuate conflict and mayhem, especially against Israel.

That's true. I just can't imagine what it's like being a normal man in the street in Syria right now. Sometimes the ME special of Top Gear is on TV and that was only a few years ago, it looks so beautiful and at peace. Now you read so many different conflicts going on there and to the man in the street it must be perplexing. Iranians, Lebanese Hezbollah, Americans, Russians, Israeli air attacks, British etc Jihadis, Chechens, Indonesians, turks whatever and the rest of the foreigners over there, to the man in the street it must be so confusing.

It is Debka. They want the hits on their website so they spin the story. They have been doing it for years. I'm surprised that they haven't claimed that the Israeli fighter was an F-35I.

Yeah that's too true. You do have to be balanced with them like MEMRI but they can be a useful source for what's really going on out there.

I think its just that the battlefield has been chosen for the super powers to duke it out, might as well lay waste to a desert environment with a lot of religious nut bags to use as pawns in the battle

Somebody claims Israel is soon to be victorious against Iran with perceived "technological superiority" due to strikes on Syrian last night that had no effect whatsoever. My guess is that their "technological superiority" will lead Israel to as much of a victory as they had against Lebanon in 2006

Kill ratio in Lebanon = 10/1 in Israel's favour. In addition to which Hezbollah got completely silenced. They don't attack Israel anymore because they know the ratio. Ten to one and that in any war equals victory

If he can keep us on the sidelines during this latest pissing match, I'll be a happy camper. Israel is the local bully who, sooner or later, will pick one too many fights and get his nose broken.
