If I am remembering right the White House Counsel doesnt have the same attorney–client privileges as a normal lawyer. It has a lot more weight to it then just a random lawyer threatening to quit.

I love these threads...better than watching TV for entertainment.

Never fail to disappoint either.

Great timing on the so called breaking story by the NY Times.

Anybody who believes this information was not known from the day it supposedly happened, but has just now been found out....I have some ocean front property available in Colorado for a great price!

Kind of like the Nunes "Memo," right??

Kind of like all this "coup" stuff, right?

I believe that it wasn't known back then, it would have been the biggest news on Earth, shattering, back then. It likely would've destroyed Trump.

I don't believe any of it on either side until I see proof.

Nobody is coughing up much in the way of proof on either side.

Same story, different day.

Everything got leaked but that one story which just happens to magically appear. Right.

Didn’t Trump want to fire Tillerson as well?

And Sessions.

All part of the game to keep the peanut vendors working.

That's just another lie trump likes to tell. The New York Times is not in fact failing.

But they are fact failures aren't they?

Is there something illegal about him firing anyone? Did him firing Comey stop the investigation? And its quite possible Obama broke real laws...having money tied up with Russian business deals is not against any law I know of. Does trump have millions tied up in Russian business deals at the moment? He isn't running any business I know about since becoming president.

It is not illegal to fire Comey. It is illegal to fire Comey if he did it based solely upon Comey refusing to drop the investigation of Comey.

Nixon had impeachments articles drawn up based upon very similar circumstances. Clinton got impeached for lying in a depo about his girlfriend, firing the FBI director precisely because he would''t drop the investigation is worse, to unbiased people.

I haven't seen a single thing indicating Obama did anything regarding the FISA memo, and since the Trump Justice Dept says that there was nothing wrong with the FISA process that they can see, I don't see how on Earth Obama did anything wrong.

Please also note that Obama was fed reports on Russia's interference and asked McConnell to make a joint statement to alleviate a political bent to the announcement, when McConnell said "no" he wouldn't alert the American people to it, Obama didn't do it. He did an honorable thing to benefit your man, and yet he gets kicked around as thanks by you guy.

If this were reversed, if Obama was asking folks for loyalty, if Obama fired the director, if Obama ordered the SC fired, if Obama told the director to lay off one of his top aides, you guys would be outside the White House with pitchforks.

And you guys know it, but don't care.

Mueller is as dirty as they come he helped cover up both the Iran Contra affair and 9/11.

He's crooked.

Hear this on some conspiracy site? He had nothing to do with either of them. And I'll say Mueller is honest however that doesn't mean he won't do everything he can to get convictions. After all this will be the end of his career no matter the outcome. So he'll be the guy that made convictions or the guy that wasted tax payer money on a witch hunt. Will see how history portrays him.

I don't think he'll do everything he can to get convictions. I think he'll do all he can to get to the truth.

You don't think that he has deferred prosecution before bc the evidence wasn't there?

I find it interesting that when Mueller was appointed, the Republicans roundly applauded it as the best person to investigate it.

Now people in this thread are saying Mueller is crooked. Of course they are, they're Trump supporters and thus all this must be a hoax, absolutely nothing that impacts Trump could possibly be true, except the good stuff. That's all true.

Seems like that's something that would require some proof...and I don't really see how you could prove it so I guess that's one pipe dream that will stay a pipe dream. Did it stop the investigation like everyone was wailing? Sure didn't...

You really think everything regarding Fusion GPS and the FISA court and these texts and the stacking of the investigation team with people bias against trump and on and on and on is all just made up? Are those things ok? And you really think Obama had no idea about any of that?

If he really didn't know then he has to be one of the most incompetent Muppets to ever hold the office then.

Oh dear, poor Hannity sounds like he's going to cry.

First he criticizes the NYT, then has to come back and say Fox News agrees, then cuts to something else. Poor guy.

I bet he demands a raise from the Russians to have to deal with all this.

To take but one example, from what are you taking this "stacking the Mueller investigation team with anti-Trump folks" stuff? The only "proof" of anything is that Mueller fired the person he found to be "anti-Trump" or there wouldn't be a focus on the guy, not surprising since Mueller is a lifelong Republican, appointed by Bush to lead the FBI.

How I could "prove" what? That Trump ordered the WH Counsel to fire Mueller? Well Fox seems to be confirming it, so if you don't believe that, why would you believe anything about Fox.

I really believe that law enforcement is damn messy. I really think that the FBI was worried about Russian meddling, as well they should be. I really think that the FBI has some people who are anti-Trump and I am awfully sure there were a sht-load who were anti-Hillary since you guys all told me that when telling us how angry the FBI agents were that Comey didn't charge Hillary, instead Comey came out and ripped her up and down in front of the cameras and you guys loved him releasing the letter 10 days prior.

Sorry, I am not at all buying this phony FISA story. I am not buying ANYTHING from Nunes, the guy has already been exposed in faking running to the WH with some "explosive" disclosure. The guy who was ON Trump's transition team. You guys simply don't see conflicts on the side you prefer to believe.

I don't know all the evidence, neither do you. But the Trump DOJ Inspector General found nothing wrong with the FISA process, so I'll take that as someone "without bias" on that matter.

And don't you think it is extremely odd that as all the news comes out regarding the Russian investigation that Nunes and the WH is in a complete panic throwing out a new conspiracy theory every day, including trotting up the reliable bad guys, Obama and Clinton?? You really think that's just "by chance"?

I don't think you understand what or how white house council works. When a president takes office he has people that advise him called a cabinet. One of thr positions available is white house council. So to full the position a president hires a lawyer he trust to join his cabinet.

In his case he got the position because without him helping his campaign he would have lost.

The differences to attorney-client privileges would only apply to the time he is the White House Counsel. Anything before or after would follow normal rules. The White House Counsel serves the President in his Official Capacity and does not act as his personal attorney. So if Trump thought moving his favorite/best lawyer to the White House Counsel would help him personally he was mistaken.

Obviously random internet posters are more trustworthy than the Fake News (TM) paper of record. Oh, and Fox News.

Do you really expect hardcore Anti-Trumpers to read the Strzok texts? Not gonna happen. They avoid real news like the plague. It could shatter there bubble of pure bliss. Don't wanna risk it no sir.

Obviously there is a need to point out the hypocrites are on both sides, as if you would seriously look at allegations against trump, you and yours just call it fake news..... It's time to change maga to mata, make America think again.

Why ? It obviously came from the Whitehouse. First the Stormy Daniels story, now this? Bannon cut loose recently... I'm sure trump thought this move was quite the secret especially seven months later. McGahn didn't leak it. Up until today nobody had leaked it.
In any event two or three weeks from now trump will have the knowledge that the man he is interviewing with knows that he tried to fire him and bring an end to the investigation. An investigation concerned with if he had tried to obstruct justice by firing another FBI agent. That has to set up some mental conflicts in trumps mind.
He is a very insecure person as it is. Big personality be damned. You can see it when he gets defensive over every little thing and in his body language when he wraps his arms so tightly around himself. Classic behavior of insecurity.
This will be on his mind. And until today was not.

If I were Potus I would want him fired too. First off, this is a tax payer funded witch-hunt while we're 20 trillion in debt. Plus, the investigation has provided more links to the Democrats colluding with Russia than Trump. Mueller may be a good man but he allowed his own team to be infiltrated by biased members. If you can't vet your own staff properly, how good of an investigator are you? But it all boils down to this.. I have no faith in any of the alphabet agencies or their politically appointed leaders. They continue to prove themselves nothing but tools for pushing political agendas. They say Justice is blind but that bitch can sure sniff out where the money is because the laws they do enforce only apply to peasants.

Release the memo.
Release the FISA warrant application.

Let the public see the real thing and decide for themselves.

If there is anything we don't need, it is more 'anonymous sources' from already discredited media.

Let's see the real thing.
