Night, no need to leave now. I was about to make my own special blend Shed style coffee for you.

Love that pic!

Thanks for sharing it!

Maybe run it through that program you use..

Awesome entry! I wish you would have more faith in your writing ability, it's a shame you cannot see what so many others appreciate.

Oh my God Joe! That is way too much snow! Where I am, there is only so much shoveling people can do and yes, it ends up over your head piled on the sidewalks because there is no place to put it. Which means if no one snowblows and keeps up with it, I have no idea how I will get groceries in the house. I aint climbing a mountain to get those bags up here! Not going out until Friday though for that.

You stay safe and warm my friend! It's like we have been getting hit with blizzard after blizzard. A horrible Winter this year!
I think we should ride this out in this realm of the Shed. Yeah?

The thing is I live up on berry hill, hardscrabble mountian. With our altitude our snow sticks around forever.
Down south or even at lower altitudes you get snow and it melts, then you get more and it melts, usually within a week. I know I used to live in Connecticut before we moved to vermont..

But up here on the mountain, the snow doesn't melt in between most storms..it just stacks up on the last batch.

We have learned up here to not NEED to go out..And when we do we stock up..

Our road is not paved, so mud season is even worse..I'd rather drive on a foot of packed snow then a foot of mud any day..

And yes! You are right! Much better to spend the time in the shed then looking out the window with Dred..

Spring can't come fast enough...

Thanks everyone for the nice comments on the story.

Night and Gordi I enjoyed you stories very much and look forward to what comes next.

Sheye i'm sorry if I confused you.
Gordi did a good explanation of what I meant.

I'd like to say that I tend to post quickly when my first draft is done.
Then I try to jump back and edit the typos and misspellings, the dropped words, incorrect grammar etc.
I didn't get to do a good job of it before the time limit for editing ran out.
So I appreciate your ability to fill in the gaps where my writing left some holes.

Thanks again.

Tom it's probably a testament to your writing ability, but I did not sense any "holes" nor any typos. I assure you if they exist they never registered here as I hungrily lapped up your entry!

~Joe

Thank you Joe ... I know I have a ways to go before I get as proficient as I’d like to be, and your words of encouragement help so much.

We have learned up here to not NEED to go out..And when we do we stock up..

That's the problem...every time we get ahead, something happens. I go out with my friend once a week, but there have been times where she was sick with the flu or called in unexpectedly to work. I am usually able to get ahead when my Sister is around, but in February she was away for three weeks and had dental emergency and appointments the following week. And being disabled, Mark and I can only carry so much up 3 flights of steps. We always get by and we do have things to fall back on, but I do hope I get out Friday or we will we need more than ever.

Just write and keep writing. I don't know of any writers who are completely satisfied with their writing. I know I have my limitations and try to work around them as best I can. There's just so much my poor little brain can retain.

That is a tough situation, the three flights is the icing on the poop cupcake..

I hope you guys do not get hit to hard by this latest storm.

Why is it that the forecasters are never right when they call for clear skies and Sun, but when they call for snow it never fails?

Things that make you go hrmmm..

Y’all forgive me.... I flake in and out here. Flu and cold season keeps getting my kiddos here😞

Anyway, thank you Light for responding.

I’ll do my part now....

It's (not) funny how life goes. It is what it is.

“It is what it is” - that’s kind of my mantra.
I’m, slowly, learning to accept my mess and not apologize for it (I still apologize for all my awkwardness 😂)

I’m 32, from the Southeastern, US. I grew up all over GA, FL, TN, NC, SC and AL. I have 4 children- 3 girls between 6-12, and the baby is a boy of less than 2. I do not currently work, I have chosen to stay home with my babies till they are all older. I regret this choice in ways on a regular basis. I had a full scholarship to college, which I didn’t use for various reasons, but mainly because I fell in love and married. Babies weren’t planned for a bit, but we were blessed with a honeymoon baby.

I live close by my immediate family and my Inlaws. It’s a blessing and a curse!😂

I came to ats to find friendship, which I have. I love to discuss religion- it’s my passion.

Currently facing hard stuff, but who isn’t?!

I love you all!

I hate it when Americans shorten state names for us non Americans....

GA...Georgia. FL Florida. TN Tenessee. NC North Carolina. SC South Carolina. AL Alabama?

How'd I do?

As for staying home with the kids, respect. I always wanted a stay at home with the kids woman but life didn't turn out that way. My ex felt insulted when I told her that I wanted to earn enough so she didn't have to work. She liked her independance even though she could hold a job down less better than I could.

Life is not work. IMHO.

Ah- so sorry about the state abbreviations. You nailed them all!

I never thought in a 100 years that I would be a stay at home parent. But I see the value. I still am not a kid person- I don’t particularly care for other people’s kids. I have days (many) where I wish I had a job so that I could get away and interact with more adults. However, I am shaping tomorrow’s future- hoping I am doing a decent job.

Children are the future. If they haven't all killed you yet, I guess you are doing a good job.
