There seems to a lot of simpletons on here.
If you think that someone or some branch stole ALL THE MONEY TAKEN IN FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS YOU ARE STUPID.

The article said UNACCOUNTED for.
NOT stolen.

Accounting is an exacting business function.
Just because the Navy says we need 20 billion and the DOD gives it to them DOESN'T mean it's ACCOUNTED FOR.
It doesn't mean they didn't spend the money buying 5 subs and not pay the sailors.
For it to be ACCOUNTED for you need a receipt for each and every rivet.

Now show us your receipts for every restaurant you ate at. Every tank of gas.
I didn't think so.

If you people would think past the end of your noses, you might figure some things out.
Tell us where you put 21 trillion?
If you spend it people would know.
Don't you think that Joe bob at Best Buy would raise an eyebrow when John Smith buys 10 80 inch OLED tvs ?
What about Bubba who runs the excavator digging that secret under ground housing project.
Apple just spent 5 billion on their new HQ. 21 trillion would get you 4200 Apple buildings.
How do you hide the spending? How do you hide the bank accounts ?

I swear the collective IQ around here amounts to a shoe size.

Like I said here:

So, no more collecting taxes until the books are in order and there's a full accounting of all the money then, eh?

I mean, why should anyone give money to a government that cannot tell us how our money was spent?

As far as your comment on "where it would go," I suggested an idea several pages back.

LAUNDERED.

It has been used to both fund terrorism and fight it. Right in front of our faces.

ETA: Surely you don't suggest that no one in the federal government has ever laundered money.

You can't launder 21 trillion.
It's impossible.

You can't fund terrorism without leaving a trail a mile wide.

Look it's estimated that for every $1 spent it creates $5 of goods and services in the economy.
$21 trillion would then generate $105 trillion.
The world economy would collapse.

It's simple accounting deficiencies.
This month you buy $20 of gas with no receipt.
Next month you spent $20 but cannot remember where.
That's $40 unaccounted for.
Don't make it out to be more than it is.

The big bad government is made up of a bunch of don't give a # lifers.
Just give them a bi weekly check until retirement.
If Bob in housekeeping can't find the receipt for the new vacuum but your floors are still swept, it's all good.
Do you think Newport News Shipbuilding printed out a sales receipt for the USS Gerald Ford?

Just stop.

The trail is there.

***

A FULL accounting of the money -- nothing less -- or stop trying to collect anymore taxes until it's accounted for.

For all I know...someone is using $100 bills to wipe their @ss and then flushing them.

Where did the money go? They need to account for every cent, and if they don't/cannot, they can spend NO MORE.

IDGAF about your excuses. Not a single F. Don't respond with anything that asks me to accept an excuse for sloppy bookkeeping. I will not respond back.

I believe you are being Naive.

Where did the money go?

What do you think happens when the government bodies throw around 50 to 100 billion dollars at a time?

What did the Iraq and Afghanistan wars cost per day? Hell, they even told you.

Why are you so upset? This is how politics is being played these days. What you hate the Dems, well the Repubs spend crazy also, what you hate the Repubs, well the Dems spend crazy also.

It is just another day ran by crooked politicians, bankers, and wall street moguls.

How much was the bank bailouts again?

It all adds up. Every single billion here and ten billion There?

Personally if you are this upset now, where have you been the past 50 years.

The game doesn't change, just the players. I have known about this for decades now.

Welcome tok the sh$Tshow. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the ride. We are just little pissants in a field of dried up left over honey that the elite left for us to squabble over the scraps.

Now I have to get some sleep so I can get up to go to work so Uncle Sam can rob my blood, sweat, and tears in the form of income taxes, gas taxes, sales taxes, and whatever damn tax I'm leaving out at the moment.

Sweet dreams

Oh, it's lost?

Then don't ask people to give money (taxes) to a financial body that simply loses money because of sloppy accounting.

Accounting is not hard.

Welcome tok the sh$Tshow.

If I am this upset "now????"

Please. I've been vocal and angry and active for the last 20+ years.

That's where I've been.

And I am not even 50 years old. I am 46.

You are not the sh*tshow welcoming committee. Please show me how critically-thinking and expressive YOU have been over "decades." I sure would love to read your meaningful contributions. Just one follow through on something you thought was a lie and then used open records law to expose. Just one.

So, allow ME to welcome YOU to the sh*tshow...because I bet I recognized this sh*tshow LONG before you.

You are probably not only naive...but arrogant. And without a single good reason to be.

This video does not account for the spending of trillions of dollars.

I could show you a video of what my family's yearly income looks like (it's not very visually impressive though)...but it doesn't account for how we actually spent the money.

Derp.

I can tell you are very passionate about this.

I apologize for my "arrogance". Personally I do like to do my research on matters, although my voice isn't in tune with really getting people to listen in the real world. Nobody really seems to care, so in turn I just stay quiet and educate myself further. I work, paid in over $10,000 in taxes last year and just keep trying to take care of my family. That is what I tend to focus on these days, changing something I can control for the better. Sorry, just a little insight to my thinking.

I have a few simple questions for You?

Is your effort paying off?

Do you feel like you are making a difference in the full scope of things?

Will anything change in the grand scheme of things?

No I just put it there as to provide a guide as to how much was not accounted for, misapropriated, stolen or whatever, banking sure has changed since I worked in it you needed 2 signatures for a $2.50 expense voucher and that would be reconciled an audited twice in due course once in branch and once by a visiting auditor. The federal reserve and treasury are where that sort of money comes from its not just the Pentagon in this scandal.

I appreciate your dialing it back and apologize for being so defensive, myself.

Nothing I say, or have worked my @ss off to expose, makes any difference to anyone except me...and maybe to a handful of others.

I accept that I don't know how to make a meaningful and widespread change. In the grand scheme...I have no regrets as far as political conspiracy theories goes. They are riddles and puzzles that I like to solve for my own satisfaction.

Ahhhh, what a relief. My old contentious ATS is back. I was starting to get worried.

I'll post some responses later. This was a wonderful surprise to wake up to.

So 1998 to 2016 is "8 years" ?
By my count it's 18 years.

And did you even read the OP? I actually said this clearly:

Such a high quantity of unaccountable transactions typically represents excessive waste and often even fraud, but are these agencies really just burning our money? Is the Pentagon spending it frugally on black ops like the secret space program, cybernetics and robotics, particle beam weapons, or contingency plans to survive WW3, etc? Or is it all being funneled into the pockets of robber barons

See how I left all these possibilities open for discussion?

I'm afraid you're talking about your own IQ.

All it requires is for them to cook the books and then allow you to sit back and deny it's even possible.

We supposedly went to the moon nearly 60 years ago, which was thought to be impossible by many.

It makes a big difference to me MotherMayEye.

I will help remind you that you already do make a difference and I will also try to help you brainstorm great ideas for improving your impact footprint if that's what you'd like to do.
